Oh for the love of Chaos, it is just an overflow lot that most guests will never see, nor care about.

Matthew, my ire was not directed at you and I apologize if it appeared that way. Just at the absurdity of this thread in general.

Totally agree. Even the least interesting news turns into drama as long as it's related to BGW.

For reference:

BGW adds parking spaces: A forum thread, seven pages of discussion and arguments

KD repaves nearly their whole parking lot: 1 picture in a blog post

If you pay for the pet kennel at the toll plaza, you're supposed to be directed to the England lot without paying for preferred parking. This is one of the main reasons why the price for the pet kennel is more expensive than it used to be.

I know PR. Reread what I said. I said "and have to bring our pet with us to park in England."

But there are times, when we don't need to drag our large, antsy, nervous dog for an hour long trip only for him to be locked up in a kennel all day. Today was one of those days. So having the other lots repaved, would be very beneficial to those of us who can't get preferred parking unless we pay for it or have a pet with us (and still end up paying for it).

Pot holes are a lot more damaging to cars than some shrubs and grass going in the backup parking lots, that seems to concern a lot of you, considering you wouldn't actually be one of the ones using it in the first place.

Sorry, I did read that a bit too fast. I see what your saying now.

Actually the shrubbery is contained within planter islands. They are there to help with the control o traffic in a sense, like forming a road without painting lines, etc.

I actually seriously believe all of their lots could use some love. I'm not concerned about how bad the lot is, in fact I really like it because it looks ten times better than the other portions of the overflow lots and I would love to see the other lots look more attractive.

There's only one parking lot in my book, England.(I'm sure that's the case for CK too)

I have been going back and forth and I feel that I need to say something.

My hope is that comments like these are just particularly insensitive attempts at humor. Unfortunately to me (and I do not believe I am alone), they come across as highlighting one group's advantages over a another. For a variety of reasons, not everyone can have a Platinum Pass. Mocking those who do not have Platinum benefits seems callous and narcissistic to me.

In this specific case, I think everyone agrees that it is great to be able to use the England lot. Unfortunately not all of our regular members and readers can take advantage of that benefit. Actually saying, even in jest, that other lots don't matter, because you don't need them is wildly self-involved and fairly obnoxious. If it matters to some of our members, it is a valid topic of discussion. As an aside, this isn't even a normal perk. BGW is the only park of which I am aware that offers a special Platinum lot. Everywhere else, we have to park in Preferred, just like everyone else.

I'll hop down from my soapbox now.

While most of the time I use it for the humor, I'm not going to lie that as a person who can be affected by medical conditions (more so after 10+ hours of walking), I really am grateful for that benefit. Bragging about it one thing, but it really is a good benefit for some people.

If any parking lot in the Sea World Parks and Entertainment brand needs help it's SWSA the lot was extremely confusing. The preferred person wasn't even checking for your receipt. Sorry for my rant but I have to say BGW has one of the nicest landscaped parking lots. It's so organized and it is home to one of my favorite transport rides, the tram.

I've parked in England against the front fence, and I've most recently parked in Scotland overflow. I've also parked in France, and Italy. All of which serve the purpose of 'parking your car'. Everybody likes to feel special at some point or another. Whether a certain parking lot is that special something or not, we all want to feel special. I feel It each and every time I pick up somebody's trash in the park. Whatever floats your boat right? (as long as it is not at the expense of others)
