whatever they do would just feel like a cheap copy

Let me tell you about FrightFest Extreme... 😬

If the park were to work with an engaged IP who enforced strict quality standards on the finished product (essentially necessitating the hiring of top quality, outside scenic design, lighting, etc firms), this could be good for the event. See: The Conjuring: Beyond Fear. If they find an IP that they're allowed to do with as they please, it will be a trainwreck and a complete waste of money. See: FrightFest Extreme.

I feel like what we would end up getting is a cheap looking ripoff of that like the Wonka Experience.
Universal owns The Purge, and released the more recent Halloween films. Disney has Alien, so those are probably a hard no.

Resident Evil films, The Last of Us, I Know What You Did Last Summer, The Grudge, Ghostbusters, Hotel Transylvania* are by Sony. Exorcist, Conjuring, It, Friday the 13th, and Nightmare on Elm Street are owned by WB. Hostel, Saw, and Blair Witch are from Lionsgate. Stranger Things is from Netflix. Night of the Living Dead may actually be in the public domain due to a copyright screwup.

*This is a kids animated IP that may have been put in by mistake? Unless they're planning on a family haunted house.

I would actually like to experience winterfest

I think you're in the wrong thread diva 😭

I think they aren't reaching deep enough into the horror movie well. I think if they want to do IP-based houses, we need the real stuff.

  • Ireland: Leprechaun in the Hood: The House
  • Germany: The Gingerdead Man: The House
  • Also Germany: ThanksKilling: The House
  • Italy: Evil Bong 3D: The Wrath of Bong: The House
  • Festa Italia: Attack of the Killer Tomatoes: The House
  • France: Deathbed: The Bed That Eats: The House: The Dance Party
