I got a survey today that was wanting to know why I let my membership expire. The thing is this was the same survey I did like a month ago. The other funny thing is that I bought my new membership at the beginning of this month. Apparently they don't bother to check to see if I still didn't have a membership or had bought one.

Based on my professional experience, I almost applied to their corporate customer experience analyst/manager position a few months ago but stopped because I don't want to move to Orlando. If only I had, maybe I could have prevented such oversampling...

Got another survey today. It was wanting to know how many times I've been there so far this year. With my really low answer they started asking why and what perks they could offer that would get to go there more. I slammed them for how expensive it's gotten, especially the cost of food and also the big drop in quality and portions of food. They then asked what they could offer and they gave a whole bunch of things like giving members a 25% discount on food, $10 Busch Bucks and things like that. Other things they proposed were a dedicated entryway to the park, early entry, late member hours and such and other relatively decent stuff including the chance to win a lifetime membership where the more you go to the park the more chances you get for the drawing. They also wanted to know how often I went to Water Country USA, which to me was a dumb question as my membership is the Unlimited single park pass. So they should know that which should tell them I don't go to water parks.

The suggested additional offerings they list show their cards, they only value "new" and "extra" benefits rather than making the existing things better.

All id ask for is improved food, improved entertainment, and more efficient operations. That's all I need to feel like this place is worth spending money at again. I nitpick on other stuff, but if the food is good and it doesn't take 2 hours to get it I'll get some anytime for the ambience alone.

Scratch that, I'll get some anytime except for summer, since they throw the ambience in the shitter in favor of being more like the best role model ever, Six Flags.

It was kinda disappointing. Mostly questions about your in park spending, why don't you spend more, what would make you spend more.

I was hoping more for questions on desired perks and benefits.

They definitely have metrics on how much a member spends per visit based off when the pass was used to enter the park and when it was scanned for a discount. I wonder if they intentionally reach out to members at a certain threshold of $ per visit. I know since I don't live local, when I visit I spend a fair amount the days that I am there. I have never been contacted for a survey either. If they do take this approach, I'll give them credit for smartly using analytics.

The BG team really needs to get organized. I just received a survey for my "most recent" to Water County. The problem is that I haven't been to Water County since the early 1990s. I was, however, recently at BG. Why is so hard for their marketing and research team to create and produce meaningful accurate surveys?

I just got a general survey. It didn't ask if I had been there on a recent visit just if I had been in the last few months. It started off asking if I had bought anything while I was there. I answered yes to Food only because I used my Busch Bucks to buy some treats before I left as I wasn't there long. It then asked what they could do to make me purchase more on my next visit. There were a variety of answers like reduce prices, lines were too long, checkout was too slow, open more locations, add more/new menu items, improve ingredient quality, couldn't find anything I liked and other to enter your own answer plus a few others I forgot. The rest of the survey was basically the same just asking the same questions about merchandise, non-alcoholic beverages, alcoholic beverages, photos, quick queues, tours, basically anything you can buy while there. You could choose and rank anywhere from three to five answers. My # 1 answer was always reduce prices. Sorry but I forgot to screen print a page to attach.

I get a survey now after every visit. I've gotten 4 since my last visit, despite filing out the first one.

C'mon, I could have done a better job for survey design and targeting than that!

Granted, I have spent a few years in my most recent position with CX measurement and analysis including design and targeting configuration...

I received another survey last week. It started off with some generic BG questions but then focused heavily on Water County and ways to get me to come to Water County. I haven't been there since the early 90s and have no intentions of ever going back. I did place some comedic comments as to why I won't go. For example: "I, just like 5th graders, do not like to get wet." That is a South Park reference for those in the back.

My family and I have been there exactly once. We spent 4 days in Williamsburg, and then another 3 in Ocean City, MD to cut the drive in half (my kids were probably about 7 & 9 at the time). On our second day in MD, my daughter developed an ear ache, my husband's sinuses were bothering him, and my belly piercing was starting to look pink and weird. We ended up having to go to urgent care at the beach, and the three of us ended up on antibiotics. My oldest daughter was fine.

I'm not saying it was Water Country that caused three of us to get infections, but yeah, it was Water Country.

I was there all the time as a kid, back when the dive show was happening and the little hose squirt guns were all the rage. I remember it being a great way to start the day (had gold-tier passes) before changing and heading to pierce's then bgw to finish out the evening

God I miss this tradition my family had during the summer while I was growing up. We’d go to WCUSA for the day, and then around 5 or so, we’d get changed and leave, grab some dinner and head over to BGW (or do dinner at BGW, bc this was when their food offerings were still really good), and watch the fireworks. Literal perfect days.

I just realized that I haven't received a survey after my last two visits. Usually my wife and I both get one a day or so after each visit.
