If Kings Dominion can have a pass member parking lot with a gate that scans your card, then why not BGW have a dedicated gate to scan your Platinum card at the 2nd lane of the cast member entrance. NO employee needed. Problem solved.
Why even bother scanning? Just put up a gate like they have at car washes and gated communities, issue one or two RFID stickers for each platinum pass member, and call it a day.If Kings Dominion can have a pass member parking lot with a gate that scans your card, then why not BGW have a dedicated gate to scan your Platinum card at the 2nd lane of the cast member entrance. because BGW cant even issue a plastic card for members much less hand out RFID tags. They charge for a hard plastic card which should be included with the $200 plus Membership price. Why even bother scanning? Sad but truebecause BGW cant even issue a plastic card for members much less hand out RFID tags. They charge for a hard plastic card which should be included with the $200 plus Membership price.
I'm all for the money going to conservation efforts. I think busch should make all of them hard plastic cards and add a surcharge that goes to conservation each year.Assuming the money actually goes to conservation efforts, I am actually happy to pay for the plastic pass.
I just want a laser-etched Titanium pass like my Apple Card.
The contrast would be hard to pull off on metal, so then you're talking about a metal card with a foil backed adhesive layer, the art layer, and finally a protective layer to prevent loss of the barcode from wear. Not exactly trivial but such a thing exists. If you're not worried about replacing it twice a year you could maybe attempt a single layer solution. In all seriousness though, couldn't someone just recreate the pass barcodes on a custom metal card pretty easily? Maybe with their own, fancy, laser-printed, BGW-inspired card design?
If only I knew someone with the manufacturing capabilities, BGWFans could offer it as a service with our own custom-made art.![]()
It sounds like they may be trying a different form of this now.. still just the one lane. I was at BG on Tuesday (when they were parking Scotland), and got VIP Parking. They were having VIP Parking people turn around and get on 60 and go through the employee entrance to get to England. I asked, and apparently it’s because when they park across in Scotland, all parking, regardless of status, is turned around before England (in that little cut through). So, to fix that, on days they’re parking across the street, they seem to be doing that. The two-lane employee entrance is exactly what I was thinking. Heck, even if it only had one person manning both sides, and the employee line got priority. I’ve never had to wait more than a minute or two, I can’t imagine that would change significantly.
