This is very interesting. Let's cross our fingers that the lift hill cable does not need to be replaced again. Last time this happened was back in 2013 towards the end of the summer.

The lift hill cable was not the problem in 2013. A cable does not need to be shipped overseas from Europe to be lost in shipping for 2 months.

That's neat:

I305 got stuck on the lift hill for most of the afternoon yesterday. Glad I got a few rides on it before it went down.

Guessing it wasn't @Pompeiiboy you're referring to? That's the previous poster to your comment that I can see (super efficient mod crew or some automated thing?).

Otherwise, anyone know if the issue with the ride is related to the shutdown the other week ago?

Yikes, what did I miss? My heart jumped for a second thinking I made a mistake somewhere haha

Took place yesterday as well. KD asked ACE for riders for a Monday and Tuesday shoot at the park. I305 isn’t the only ride being filmed.

I was at the park on July 4th, does I305 ever actually get a queue? I feel like the only times I see it with a line are Saturdays in October. Part of me wonders if it suffers a lot from being in a far away corner from the rest of the park but I mean I know people are afraid of the blackouts. I know it's a people eater as well and that makes me think it's rather difficult for it to generate any sort of line especially running two trains because the volume of people heading back to that corner of the park isn't particularly high and it seems to have a steady stream of people getting in line. That being said Twisted Timbers didn't have much of a queue either on July 4th largely just a station wait whereas it seems like half the park is at Dominator sometimes now.

Longest wait I ever had for I305 was about 20 min for the front row the weekend after it opened... ever since It's been almost walk on everytime I've been there since (I only go about once a year, but usually on Saturdays no less)

Location and capacity are the biggees that keep the queues down. It's a long walk to get there and any supporting service (i.e. food, bathrooms, other entertainment) is a decent walk back. Compare that to Twisted Timbers, which has lousy capacity, but also has lots of other attractions and entertainment right in the same area as the entrance.

The best thing KD can do when they take down Anaconda is open up the area to I305 as a plaza of sorts with food/shops/stage to draw more guest traffic to the area.

That is a good point about the lack of amenities over there. The closest restroom is past Backlot from Intimidator. Wonder if you switch Dominator and Intimidator 305s locations and you'd see a huge difference in lines. Not that I have much to complain about the lack of lines I just hope Cedar Fair doesn't get some annoying ideas in a couple years.
