Netdvn, I think he is reading the backs of his new Star Wars TOPPS cards and actually chewing the gum.

This was an interesting video. Pretty neat to see familiar things that far back in the past.
Also, it really irritates me that I can barely sneak a few pics on a ride, yet whoever shot this video did so unmolested while carrying around one of those large clunky recorders from the 60-70's. ;)

Really miss the Clydesdales. Seeing a team of them do anything is always impressive.

Found this page that has a video of the park from 2003. Just scroll down, you can't miss it. :)

^That was cool, but could someone explain exactly what I'm looking at?

People with knowledge regarding this place have most likely 'ceased to be'.

*gasp* I honestly can not believe it is still open.

EDIT: From the looks of it, the park is essentially a free zoo, with the exception of parking and food/drink/merchandise. Sweet deal.

That's an incredible video Hoopla- thanks for sharing!

While overall it's fairly depressing to see the massive negative shift in the park's environment since that video was taken, on the bright side, Aquitaine has been significantly improved since then. Guess that's something good. :-/

I don't even know how much I prefer the current Aquitaine to the 2001 Aquitaine. The current entrance on the Wild Reserve side definitely looks livelier now, but that's more or less it. It's mostly the little things that were better then, at least in my opinion. For instance, the clock still says Aquitaine, the statue has a natural look instead of that horrid golden spraypaint job, and the clothes hung across the windows gave the hamlet the feel of a bustling French village. Finally, the music had a distinctly more antiquated feel. Nowadays the soundtrack makes feel like I'm at a French restaurant.
