Old Dominion Line

Hello everybody! Im an avid park railroad enthusiast who lives by Kings Island. I noticed that there is very little background on KD's old railroad while it still lasted. I know that #601 is at BGA and the other is in Oklahoma, I believe, but I can't find any pictures or articles on KD's old railway. So, does  anyone have any old pics from the old railroad at Kings Dominion before it was torn down?

Sonofbaconador, I am also a rail enthusiast and at the time of this photo I HAD to meet the conductor.  This was around 1975 or so.  So far it's the only photo I can find in my family photos of the Old Dominion Line.

As am I! I guess we all just like stuff that runs on tracks? I'm a big fan of infrastructure and what not in general. Birds of a feather...

The town was named Tumble Gulch, and for a few years starting in 1984, the train stopped at the town and there was a wild west-type show called "The Terrible Times at Tumble Gulch". I don't remember much about it other than that it involved a gunfight. The experience was interesting for me because it mirrored a similar (and still operating) attraction called "Dry Gulch Railroad" at my other home park, Hersheypark.

This is me on the Old Dominion Railway about 1986, dad in background.  Grew up watching trains near our house and loved riding this one.  It didn't have the shows when we rode it that I remember.  There were old buildings along the way.  Liked riding past both the Rebel Yell and the Grizzly each time leaving and returning to the station.  Fun times.  The park was really organized back then as far as territories went.

Somebody has posted the holy grail of old dominion line videos on you tube! I think it is from 1977 give or take a year. This is the only video I have ever seen of the redneck wedding show. (This was later replaced with a stunt/shootout show which I DO remember) this is so cool.

Best footage I've seen for Old Dominion Line so far. It looks like you can also see Grizzly's original line in the beginning of the video and some good views of Hurler under construction. Imagine the views now of Twisted Timbers if ODL was still operating.
