If @horsesboy info is right it gives me hope that they will widen the bridge some for better traffic flow especially during fireworks nights. Also the little standing nooks need to be kept.

That bridge is dangerously unsafe when they pack it for fireworks, look at the rust in all the steel and if you really want to see the damage take a ride on the Rhine River. Now I just sit back and wait for all the structural engineers to say im wrong....just like they did when FF was built and water dammed up to where the wood was under water. Funny how that was fixed not too long afterward.

Technical question: this bridge is officially part of San Marco, right? Being that its name is Ponte de Accordo.

Interesting that even though the bridge had a name placed on it, they chose to just call it the Italy bridge... Not even the San Marco or Oktoberfest bridge (even if the name suggests it's Italian).

If memory serves me right, the sign on the Italy side says “Ponte Del Accordo”, which would be the officially name. But the general public won’t understand that so it’s just called the Italy Bridge.

Honestly I don't hate it. I wish it were another ride, but we need more seating in that area that's not directly next to the smoking zone. Now if they could install a little bar and a pickup window on the pretzel place...add some small entertainment on the "stage"...

If only there was a shape used consistently throughout the surrounding structure that the park could have mirrored for the wooden platform in the middle...

Hopefully this is a single season solution so I won't complain too much but, like... it seems so obvious.

I wonder if the dining area itself is temporary, or if it being temporary would even make sense

The phones could be moved relatively easily - I'd imagine all they have to do is terminate the wire in a junction box covered by a weatherproof plate. But the colors... Dunno if a pressure washer would take care of that or sand blasting is needed.

I'm a little surprised they haven't taken the phones off yet. They pop right off the mounts. Maybe these were just forgotten. Was the phone at controls still there?
