I forgot to mention a really sweet moment from this past weekend's performance...
During the disco part of the show, Ulrich comes down to the crowd and shares his mic with a guest to sing/echo the following with him:
"Do a little dance.
Make a little love.
Get down tonight!"
Well, that evening the guest was my baby. We were right up front. She was so excited! She even knows the words because we have seen this show so many times; even listening to Daddy's recordings over and over again. She has such a great memory. But...she clammed up. She was so surprised and embarrassed (I think) that she forgot the words and tried to hide her face under my arm. It was so cute, and Ulrich did his best to make her feel comfortable.
After the show she told me "Daddy, I'm never going to forget this." When I asked her what she meant she said "My favorite singer talked to me."
Six years old folks!!
I did take a picture, but was so focused on my baby and her excitement that all I got was Ulrich's face. It all happened so fast. It is a fantastic closeup. Will post later.

Have to say, I admire the cast greatly. We saw the 6th show last night and they were on! Even the second male vocalist has vaslty improved from week one. Gabe is, as usual, the driving force of the show and the dancers were great. Can't feel bad about the new dancers from NY, they are doing it! The band was cooking as well. Even with only 3 horns and rhythm, they were exciting and punctuated the entire show with much appreciated live music. As much as we like DIU for it's silliness and enthusiasm, Night Beats will have to be our number one show.

Did a certain somebody get chosen by Ulrich at the 3:00 show today? Or is there somebody else named Nora?! If it's "our" Nora, I like how she asked how Ulrich was !
I was at the back of the Festhaus and perked up when I recognizer the name.

Cool! I wish I could have said "Hi!". Now that I think about it, I also think I ran into her at Blood Banquet tonight, but shyness got the best of me. I was worried it wasn't really her and I'd make a fool of myself--but I wish I'd gotten to meet someone there!

One thing I can tell you is that Ulrich (Gabriel) sounds amazing! I could hear him singing without the mic and wow.

I wear the same Ghost-Beer-Brew shirt every time I go, (yes, I wash it ) so I do get some people that see me and say hi each week. I can usually be found either in Grogan's drinking a Guinness or in the Festhaus drinking a beer and watching the show.
I'm including a photo I had taken with Ulrich last year. I go out of my way to get pictures with whomever I want, and this was a must have. I also have a great one from when the Jack is Back show was playing a few years back. I had to go over a few heads with complaining, but my daughter and I were able to snap a great picture with Pie and Patch
I'm headed down again this Friday (5-10) for what will be my final 2013 HOS visit.

Well, made my last trip to Howl-O-Scream 2013 today and, sadly, it seems I hit Night Beats on a very off day. I don't know what it was, but it really wasn't performing at its best either time I saw it.

We are hearing that Gabriel will not be performing as Ulrich at this point. To us, this one of those shows where another performer would not really work very well.

That's a bad set up for a show: Have a character be the whole show. You need to rely on the music and dancing, not a sole character that will eventually be replaced.
