RE: Night Beats (2012 to Present)

I filmed Night Beats on the first day of the event last year and have watched/listened to that first day recording countless times. Today's was, in my honest opinion, compared to last year first day showings, superbly lackluster. To put things in perspective, Dig it Up is ranked higher than Night Beats for me right now.

RE: Night Beats (2012 to Present)

Been reading on here for awhile and thought I'd join and post.
It took me a few times last year to enjoy Night Beats. I liked it more each time I saw it. Ulrich won me over. I think he does a great job.
I like the show and didn't see a whole lot different from last year. The female lead is different, but she has a strong voice. A couple of the other singers did not have strong voices.
I'll be back in a couple of weeks to see it again. :)

I never saw the show last year, so I came into it tonight as a clean slate. I was actually very impressed, and personally, I think it beats out Dig it Up. As a keyboardist myself the live band was one of my favorite things about the show, and, like everyone says, I found Ulrich to be a great actor/singer. "Superstition" was probably my favorite song of the night. Props to all the performers, great job as far as I'm concerned...

The live band is great. I think the banter is now boring, the story line is just another thing that has nothing to do with Halloween. Who cares that he wants to marry the girl?

This is my least favorite show, and frankly I wish Fiends was in the festhaus because I like to go there to eat but frankly wouldn't go out of my way to eat during the show instead of between shows, the show is that uninteresting in my opinion.

If this is something you dislike, I hear Kings Dominion has some shows more suited to your tastes.

Seriously? So, don't go to BGW if you don't like one of the shows?

Guess I'll just turn in my Platinum Pass now, since I don't go to any of the shows, unless forced.

It's a matter of tastes in shows. BGW shows have always been able to entertain without appealing to the cool kids, but now since BGW is so eager to show how hip they can be yo, then there's nothing to differentiate them from KD.

Aside from the cleanliness, friendliness, rides that don't beat your a$$, and honestly I think HOS is much better this year minus a few people.

Right, and when the park stops caring about how they cater to people, why would they care about cleanliness or friendliness?

With all the comments saying that it wasn't as good as last years, I was fearing the worse.

It's not that bad. I have to get used to the new Beatrice, and the new Shadows of the Night. But not bad.

Those Bug costumes are still the worse though.

My only other complaint, is that the show started out really strong. but by the time they got to "Night Fever" It got progressively weaker. And it may be just me, or did it look like some of the singers were getting winded by the end.

They're working hard, and singing and dancing at the same time is no easy feat. Props to them for being able to do so, but it's rather noticeable. I'm hoping the more times they perform the show, their stamina will be hire.

Overall the show is still really enjoyable. And hasn't really changed, unlike a certain other show I know about. /looking at you Fiends.

As always I adore Ulrich... Gabe really has an amazing voice. Seriously, when is the park ever going to sell CDs or downloable soundtracks of their shows???

Such a simple thing to make money.

Anyway- I just posted some photos of the show on BGW Memories FB page. To save space and help the forum here... just link to this: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.231640216989498.1073741846.149401725213348&type=3

Any of you all have any retro pics of Howl-O-Scream; send them in.. I am doing my best to document everything (that and I am terrified of Howl-O-Scream- so unless it is a show... I will have my eyes closed most of the night.. taking pictures of houses and mazes is the last thing on my mind!) :)

I like this show, and it wasn't bad today, but don't go into this expecting last year's version. The cast needed a lot more rehearsal, the singers were constantly going off beat, and the dancers were not in sync with the music. I do think in 2 weeks it will be better, but if you go before then don't expect the perfect showing.
