Honestly, I do need a safe space away from this show, but it isn't because of the reasons that I laid out above. It's more about this.
Night Beats: Revamped

From Friday to Saturday performances the vampire singing the Eddie Money song changed names from Santiago to Ulrich Jr. Not a fan. Plus, I just can't see the resemblance between him and Ulrich?
It does raise many questions about BGW vampire lore. Is he a child of Ulrich in that Ulrich converted him? Why would someone who is converted by a vampire take the name of the person who bit them through...? Is he actually Ulrich's biological son? In BGW vampire lore can vampires have children? Was Ulrich Jr. the son of human Ulrich before Ulrich became a vampire? So many questions...
Actually, this raises another interesting question: which cannon does BGW follow? There are many variants on vampire lore with wildly different rules and traditions for undead behavior.
Zachary - I hear you on the over (under?) tones you noticed. I do think it was completely unintentional, although maybe should have been noticed and rewritten.
BGW Family, I finally realized that the Casket Club sign is there because they do a "rewind" to the 70s.. I'm not too familiar with the old storyline, but wasn't it set in that decade? The scene is kind of odd and shoehorned into the story though.(I think I enjoy that music more though *shrug*)

I wonder if this iteration of the show looks fantastic to people who have never experienced Howl-O-Scream before or not in recent memory. I hope to find out tomorrow with a friend in that category.
Sorry for the double post, but the show that I saw tonight was a world of a difference in a good way from what I saw on the first weekend, or even from videos of the second weekend. The awkwardness was overall less awkward, and they have incorporated a new form of pyrotechnics into the finale that was unexpected and looked awesome. These pyrotechnics shoot up diagonally away from the orchestra pit in the center.
I hope somebody gets some video/photo updates of the show, because it was different enough. It might also have been because I have seen the show before, but I was able to look at it as being a new show, and I enjoy it more that way.

Yes! Well, partly. The original Night Beats was supposed to be a journey through the decades of music, starting in the 1920s and progressing through the years. The most prominent part of the show was definitely the 70s part, which blended right in to modern day.
Without casting any judgement on the new show, I really do miss the creativity of the old Night Beats (especially how every song had the word "night" in it.)

What I originally didn't like about Night Beats Revamped is that I felt like I was watching so many other shows, except this one (mostly) didn't live up the the other shows portrayed, in my opinion. However, last year I almost wanted to leave, because I was still expecting Night Beats.
I almost think they should just change the name and create a new vampire show, but I like Night Beats Revamped as long as I don't think of it as being related to Night Beats. Rather, I think of it as Monster Stomp Revamped:in Das Festhaus, but without knives.
I'm late in bringing my feelings to this discussion, but just saw this show for a third time, and thought I'd contribute.
This show is miles above Night Beats. It felt more relevant, more modern, easier to follow, less overly dramatic. Really enjoyed it a ton! Getting rid of the awful wigs from Night Beats was a great decision. I enjoyed the small homages to the original show, especially the touch of Benatar we get at the beginning.
It held my attention fully every time I saw it, and I'm glad to see that they aren't afraid to update a show pretty drastically.
Plus, I'm a sucker for Carly Rae Jepsen, so the finale hit me hard.
