I can see an argument FOR flying acrobats...or at least flying BEINGS in SNM. Scrooge. Spirits/ghosts. Yeah, I wouldn't have a problem with that.

I just can't wrap my head around flying ANYTHING involving brewers and a celebration (or 'adventure', or something to that effect). Hey, maybe it's something completely cool that was some kind of epic epiphany by the new show creator that would absolutely fit with an Oktoberfest show in the Festhaus. I'm just not seeing it, and I'd like to think I have an amazing imagination.

I'm not trying to bash the not-yet-performed show. I just don't like the vibes I've read. It's too reminiscent of ridiculousness from past 'shows'. Again: might be fantastic? Might not? We won't know till it comes out. But yes, an opinion can absolutely be formed before a show opens based on information released from an official source. Sadly, it's not like a movie where we can get a glimpse of the show, like a movie trailer. Words are open to vast interpretation, and many people can take away lots of differing opinions. And you know what they say about opinions ;)

Everyone just relax. I'm perfectly happy eating my words if my current gut feelings...not to mention the history we've seen regarding past epic 'fails'...are proven wrong.

SNM was hated because the original concept was terrifying to some. The fact that the show went through major last minute changes was additionally terrifying. However, those changes turned out to be wonderful. The main reason why those changes were terrifying is because they were last minute and also because people have started to expect the absolute worst from the park.

While I enjoyed London Rocks, according to skewed numbers and the overwhelming opinions found all around the forums, the show was still terrible.

Monster Stomp on Ripper Row was mostly successful due to its nostalgia. It used some of the arguably best parts of past shows to create one show. It did have some new bits, but regardless it was the nostalgic bits that people really went for like the dancing skeletons and shirtless drummers.

With this show, the concept itself isn't bad. The few non-story based elements is what people are terrified of. No one is saying that a 40th beer brewing festival based show is bad for the Festhaus. It's only the fact that it includes acrobatics that one can only assume are similar to Entwined and Killarney Kommotion as well as a few choice words.

EXCLUSIVE ROLL OUT THE BARREL SNEAK PEAK

ROFL I don't care how you feel about the new show, ya gotta admit that was funny! But to be fair, there was a heck of alot of missing glitter and confetti in that clip :p lol

You know

I recall you guys hating on Scrooge No More quite a bit before it premiered. That show utilized acrobatics. Everyone ended up loving it.

Even Monster Stomp and London Rocks weren't that bad.

I'll be waiting for the premier before judging the show.

Not everyone liked it. Predictably I did not. To be fair I really don't like "A Christmas Carol"
The show was far from flawless. The flying was a gimmick, it added nothing to the show.

Personally, I still think they just pulled the original plans for "Scrooge No More" off of the back-burner. The only song that even suggested a rock theme in the end was "Just Leave Me Alone". That was excusable however, because it was a catchy tune that added uniqueness to the show without going too far. They also had very talented people who always have backup plans.

Roll Out The Barrel has been tossed around as an idea for at least four years now. While preparing the show for the first time, they chose "plan B"(Entwined). I think it's encouraging that Zachary & Weiner will be writing the score. They are very talented. I only hope they can mimic German music properly. The "Dulsburg Intro" for Entwined was the maximum amount of tackiness that I would hope for. Anything more than that will mean another embarrassing show.

Some show times appeared...

Probably not. Rehearsals just started this week. I believe light focus and stagecraft are still in progress, also. Unless they give us a taste at the San Marco meeting.
