RE: Monster Stomp Revamped (Howl-O-Scream 2011)

I saw the show on Sunday, what a bitter disappointment. This is not even close to as good of a show as last year. I was expecting a high caliber performance and was really let down. There was no longer a cohesive theme, the concept of a vampire hunt was completely removed. The singing and dancing was plain awful. They ruined the 'Barracuda' sequence. The percussion sections and the 'zombie/coprse' tap dance were outstanding. This show is now just a loose collections of skits. The acromyn MSR now stands for 'Monster Stomp: Ruined"!

I honestly gotta say, I am starting to get sick of MSR. It has just gotten old. Its going to take more than a new stage set-up and a new bit or two for me to keep enjoying it. They really need a major revamping of the show. I hope we can see a lot more change this year. Maybe bring back the original show 5 or so years from now, but just either completely revamp it or dump it for something new.

Yeah! Mr. Shirtless Hot Drummer Guy! Who we'll never see again. Whomp, whomp.

May I ask why?

Because on the level of variety of shows the park had during HoS, it was perfect. Night Beats was a classy song and dance number that appealed to the grown ups, Dig it Up was a great comedy show aimed for the kids, and Fiends was a funny show aimed to the ideal HoS crowd. If they bring back MSR, then that means that the park will either have four large scale shows which is too much and will take away from the scare budget, or it will replace one of the current shows and it will either throw off that balance by taking out Dig it Up or Night Beats or replace Fiends which is a better show than MSR ever was.

I get it that MSR is well loved by lots of people, but I can't see it being added to the show lineup without the entertainment value suffering as a result.

I have a feeling if/when it comes back they'll just go with the four large scale shows option, and just eat at the budget.

Thank you sir! Credit goes all to my mom, she was really into getting great pictures. There are plenty more, just a matter of finding time to post.

Guys, I was totally talking just about Mr. Shirtless Hot Drummer Guy. I know MS is coming back. I just don't think he is after what happened last year.

RE: Monster Stomp Revamped (? to 2011)

From what I understand drummer dude is a trainer in the area and his only gig up here was monster stomp. If they bring most of the show back, I don't see why he wouldn't want to come back.

RE: Monster Stomp Revamped (? to 2011)

I think after his publicity stunt on Facebook, the park got rid of him and didn't want him back but now because the park is so desperate for talent they would even take back the most bitter of team members as long as they have somthing.

RE: Monster Stomp Revamped (? to 2011)

I just noticed the years on this thread. 2008 was when Monster Stomp moved from New France to Ireland and renamed Monster Stomp Revamped.

Is the so-called "hot shirtless" drummer the guy that I think I saw a U.S. Marine Corps tattoo on his arm in 2011? I liked that trio of percussionists very much.

Can you elaborate on this? Link to facebook/name, etc. Just curious.
