I left feeling that I would like to see it again.

I feel the exact same way! Mix It Up is one of my favorite shows at the park because of its high energy. It does its job as a show very well for what it's supposed to be: a past-paced, upbeat, entertaining musical show while you eat. I think the idea of a big brass band is a great concept for Il Teatro di San Marco, and it is executed well. Also, it looks like they took out the cheesy parts of the show, leaving behind only the good stuff. I don't know what it is, but I always want to see this show again and again. It's so fun. Along with AWS at KD, it's the only theme park show I know to capture the attention of my GP friends. Aside from the hidden gems in Jack Hanna's Wild Reserve, I would say it's the most underrated show in the park.

ZUPPA!!

Just watched Mix it Up again yesterday now I am sure this show is awful compared to the 1st few seasons of it, the show lacking a lot it dont go with the music as in the past the drum line this year is the worst yet they are no where as good as the past drummers the horn player on the solo canr blow the horn till the end of the sone past players had no trouble they try to put a little comedy into it they fail now this is one show I wont g out of my way to watch also they changed the shoes so they no longer match the costume bad move the colored shows looked great I was a huge fan of Mix it Up but no more, I dont mind changes like they have done in Celtic Fyre it didnt take away from the show here it has run the show down now to me its as bad as Entwined thank goodness they have Celtic Fyre and London Rocks, 2 great shows but ever since the blow up late last year in Mix It Up it has carriedover to make a bad show this year...

Joe its not that I hate the show just dont like the road it is on now, the past members of the show made it what it was just as these are pulling it back down I am not the only so called old timer that hates the changes in this show just the only one who post on this site. There are 5 other people that watch the show at times with me and not a one of them likes this show better. Guess if I had not seen the show the past few years I would like this show it might not be faie to compare them but I cant help it Mix it Up use to be my 2ns fav after Celtic Fyre now its below the pet show......

Are you trying to say that LR is better than MIU? I don't know what the former versions of MIU were like or how the new version compares, but there is no way that London rocks surpasses Mix It Up in any way! (IMO)

I am saying London Rocks blows Mix It Up right out of the water with no questions asked, you can find the past couple of years of MIU on the net watch them then you can see just how bad this years show is compared to them tome London Rocks is almost as good as Celtic Fyre....Ya gotta get the story line to like the show...

Wait... what? I mean, that's your opinion and all, but uh... um... okay... sure...

I can judge shows just fine thank you i still like Celtic Fyre better than London Rocks but London Rocks IS ON PAR WITH CELTIC FYRE thats more than I can say for the new MIU, in the past I put it right up there behind Celtic Fyre, no more....

Everyone can have their own opinions, obviously. I love this year's version of MIU. The music, as well as the drill, is top-notch, in my two-cents worth.

Even with some our favorite performers now at Kings Dominion, this is still a great show, and the performing is still top-notch. I am very fond of how they took the "cheesy" (no pun intended) parts out of the show, leaving only the best stuff, and replaced it with the fun new pots-and-pans drumming bit. Really the only thing I miss (other than the performers, but we can still see them clowning around elsewhere...) is the Zuppa bit, although the show is fine without it. It has evolved into a very fun, exciting show.

This show is meant to be entertainment in an outdoor restaurant atmosphere. People that sit down without something to eat and scrutinize the entirety of the show are missing the point of its existence. Dining entertainment is different from full-on theater productions. A big bowl of ice cream will put a smile on your face during this show. A hot, sweaty, I need air conditioning attitude will leave a sour taste in your mouth.

Thats what it is entertaniment however its still not the show it once was not that its bad just not no where near as good as it was. Thank goodness i still have the old show on my computer to watch, one part I really miss is ZUPPA!! That plus the sugar sugar mix has nothing with it this year yep this show not up to par.........

I don't think anybody disagreed with you the first time you posted this same thing about the show being better in the past. Also, I think something may be wrong with your computer as it's piling all of your punctuation at the end of your paragraphs. They are hard to make sense of sometimes. What is Zuppa? Is that the table spinning act?

Zuppa was the big cooking pot that they beat on with the plastic sound sticks, not sure what the propper name of them are.

Zuppa was the scene which involved the four percussionists making music by whacking boomwhackers (that's what the plastic sound sticks are, Bama) around the edge of a giant smoking cooking pot, as they were supposedly making soup. It was a pretty fun little scene; I too miss that one.

It starts at about 7:10 in this video:

Thanks for posting the full show! After watching it on here now I am sure last years show is one thousand percent better all arounf from the show to the drummers and everything inbetween.

Somehow, I could see that coming. While the scene was fun, it was also very phony. This year, I think the biggest improvement is that they don't use as many backup tracks as they did in the past. The "Zuppa" scene relied way too much on the back up tracks. It was about 80% backup. It was almost to the point that they were faking the main chorus of the song (Popcorn). The start of the scene was real and the last 20 seconds or so was real. Currently, the only backup tracks that they use are for certain instruments that would not fit on the stage. The musicians this year, in my opinion are unparalleled. That being said, I do miss several of the previous performers. As far as the dancers are concerned, I think they meet at least one female dancer. As of now, with all male dancers, the show seems like it could use a lot more balance. The only thing I miss about this years show are the giant flags in the finale. I think that they made A great statement, but now the flags are all very small. Maybe they changed that because the percussionists were very frequently "hit" in the head with the flags.

The musicians do seem more precise this year. The new show seems more audience oriented too. The yellow returning percussionist seems to have a lot of fun. Of course he did last year too. This choreography is very enjoyable.
