RE: Mix It Up

Well, I don't recall seeing Loch Ness Monster on the brochure or on the site. It was left out somewhere and I'm pretty sure they just forgot about it.

RE: Mix It Up

 Has anyone heard who is gonna be here this year for the music shows yet? I have looked a couple of places but havent came up on anything. I see where Tampa and Seaworld have theres listed..........

I know the park has lost great performers to the cruise line industry. One of them being the lead vampire in Monster Stomp Last year, he was also in Deck the Halls and Mix It Up last year. I think his name is Jaymez, I hope I spelled it right? Sadly he is gone.

RE: Mix It Up

Oh no, is this confirmed? He has been there for a long time, since Jukebox at the Canadian paladeum.

RE: Mix It Up

I know when I went to auditions in January, Male Dancers were needed for immediate start and to be available through August.

One of my sources showed me he changed his workplace on Facebook. He is going into the cruise industry.

Mix It Up has tweaked their performance. Instead of having the commercial/jingles montage, they now have a Sugar Sugar/Candyman sequence. This sequence invloves the male dancers trying to win over one of the females with cakes, ice cream and eventually a wedding cake. It's not bad, but I really enjoy the jingles more.

As for myself I liked the 2011 show better. Why do they not do the table act anymore? We were there the 1st weekend this year they had it in the show but the past 4 times we went they have ommited this buton one of those it was ranning. What happened to a lot of the members that were in the show last year I did see where James got a job with a cruise ship.....

They still do it. Sometimes they are short a drummer (only 3) and have to cut it. So if you only see 3 drummers in the beginning of the show, you know that routine is eliminated. If all 4 are there, they do it. We saw them have to skip it once so far this year because they were a drummer short.

Thanks for this info I will look at the number of drummers to start the show next time I am there!

Many of the show will operate at a diminished capacity during the spring season. Once the park is at 100% operating schedule, then you'll all the components in a show. I've noticed that on the past few fridays, they did not have the normal number of performers.

The table act depends on there being both four percussionists AND four dancers.

The dancers interact with the drummers.

RE: Mix It Up (2011 to Present)... some pics

Some Mix-it-Up! pics from rainy Sunday, 20 May 2012.

One of the talented dancers:

Testing the zuppa:

Some of the cast from Entwined take in the Mix-it-Up! show during one of their breaks. They were enthusiastic in their applause for Mix-it-Up!, and deserve applause for their own singing and performance talents in Entwined:

Carefully watching the show:

Even though it had been raining (and continued to rain) these two serious watchers sat up front while the rest of the crowd remained under cover.

Just can't get enough of the tuba:

I think the alto player would be killin' if the show format let him stretch out a bit. As it is, he gets about four measures in which he gets to improvise. Kinda sorta. If the stage manager isn't listening too closely.
