Chalk this up as another “I’ll believe it when I see it” project, but Mattel wants to build a third park (the other two haven’t opened yet and keep getting delayed) and this would also include their first indoor water park. No location mentioned except in the Orlando Area:

And let me put this out there: there is not a SINGLE fully indoor amusement/theme/water park in all of Orlando. This is something that is desperately needed in my eyes.
There is a reason that none currently exist. They are very expensive to build, and without cold weather, there is not a major market demand.
And no, 72F in February is not cold, especially when the water is heated.

counterpoint: Florida sees daily afternoon thunderstorms, which a fully indoor park would not have to worry about impacting their operations.
In my experience FL water parks have enough places to seek shelter though.

I did have the pleasure of speaking with ProSlide for a while and the topic of this project came around. They obviously couldn’t say if they had any work for this project but it did sound implied that they are doing at least something for the project. Unrelated, it also sounds like they have work down the pipeline for United Parks as a whole, so keep an eye out.

If it's a new ground-up waterpark, WhiteWater West will be involved and not Proslide. They are the primary collaborator for Martin Aquatics, who are the primary partner with American Resort Management and Mattel.

I published an article today covering the state of this Mattel deal right now; More Ways To Play: Mattel Splashes into Indoor Waterparks - Coaster101

Pre-application permits filed yesterday for the Orlando location, now knows to be a ground-up development on 11 acres at 15845 State Road 535.

Records show Countyline Properties LLC, a St. Petersburg-based investment firm, is the current owner of this property and purchased it for around $550,000 in 2012. Representatives for this group did not immediately respond to a request for comment on the filing.
Additionally, the site plan included in the filing notes that this plan was being prepared for "Project Play Holdings LLC" — a company that appears to be related to Mattel’s themed attraction endeavors

The location of toy giant Mattel’s new indoor waterpark is no longer a mystery. It’s going to be 10 minutes from Disney on Vineland Road, just south of the Lake Buena Vista Factory Stores outlet mall.
The development team, which is composed of Mattel and Orlando-based Martin Aquatic, filed conceptual plans this week for the 11-acre site that will feature a 90,000-square-foot indoor water park with a retractable roof, an outdoor waterpark and event lawn, a “slide zone” and 11,400 square feet of retail space. The building could be up to 60 feet high, which is definitely tall enough to fit a life-sized Barbie Dream House.
The plan from Kimley-Horn shows parking for 752 vehicles, including 368 to be located in a parking garage.
