Mäch Tower was a Moser's Rides Gravity Tower located in the Oktoberfest section of Busch Gardens Williamsburg.

Originally planned to debut in the spring alongside Beste Brezeln und Bier and numerous other alterations to the Oktoberfest hamlet, Mäch Tower faced months of delays throughout the first half of 2011. Ultimately, the attraction did not open to the public until August 18th, 2011.

Mach Tower was typically converted into an observation tower named Nächt Tower for the park's annual holiday event, Christmas Town.

On December 16, 2022 it was announced by the park that Mäch Tower would close on January 8th, 2023. The ride did not operate in it's typical Nächt Tower mode in 2022, in order to have final sendoffs in the normal drop tower mode.

When it debuted, Mäch Tower featured an onboard audio system which would play music throughout the ride's ascent and a seat vibration effect that would trigger immediately before the drop. A POV featuring the on-ride audio can be found below.

How about the park closes Mach Tower indefinitely and over the off season they rebuild and redesign it to be the dragon concept and they actually work out all the problems? They could advertise it as a new or improved ride, to help draw in more people and increase the drop and fix the problems.

I haven't mentioned this yet, because I didn't want to start any panic. However, the rumor mill seems to be turning full blast already, so what the heck. Does anybody else find it strange that almost all Mach Tower merchandise is in the 50% off gift shop now? It has been that way since the middle of the season.

^But then it has the possiblity of tilting slightly like the leaning tower of pizza. Now that I think about it, that would be cool, and a first, a sideways drop tower. "Fall at unimaginable angles" :)

Last time I was on it, he pretended to count down, but dropped us at about "4." He also didn't start the countdown right away. He seemed to be enjoying himself. It was rather funny, actually.

Yea I liked the countdown, but without the vibrating seats and all this is just a small drop tower with problems. I say either redo it all and add the effects or replace it.

Here's an idea. Have Intamin redesign the carriage to include the 90 degree seat tilt. BGT-BGW sisterhood restored.

I highly doubt Intamin would do it. Mach Tower's actual tower and lift system is radically different than what Intamin uses. Additionally there's still plenty of bad blood between BGW and Intamin- that's something that still hasn't changed.

More than likely it's just the gift shop trying to push product out the door. If it's not selling you discount it to get rid of it.

Also from what sources have told me, the 50% off store in Rhinefeld works like so:

Whatever outdated products that are still in sellable condition but are outdated and need to be thrown out (ex: 2012 branded merch.) is marked down as damaged and is set for the trash. But instead of throwing it in the trash they try to make some money off of stuff that is going to be thrown out anyways so they discount it 50% off and try to sell it for something rather than throw it away.

This comes for a very reliable source directly.

So if Mach Tower merch is in that store then the merch is somehow outdated or is planned to be trashed, but they still want to try to make some profit off of it. Or perhaps they have just a few things left and aren't planning on adding more to their inventory and just want to dispose of it.

I am sure they are trying to sell more Verbolten stuff anyways :p

Well it was closed when I went by earlier today.

Most of the time when I go early in the day they don't open Mach Tower until 12:00. I don't know why, maybe someone else could clarify why.
