Mäch Tower was a Moser's Rides Gravity Tower located in the Oktoberfest section of Busch Gardens Williamsburg.

Originally planned to debut in the spring alongside Beste Brezeln und Bier and numerous other alterations to the Oktoberfest hamlet, Mäch Tower faced months of delays throughout the first half of 2011. Ultimately, the attraction did not open to the public until August 18th, 2011.

Mach Tower was typically converted into an observation tower named Nächt Tower for the park's annual holiday event, Christmas Town.

On December 16, 2022 it was announced by the park that Mäch Tower would close on January 8th, 2023. The ride did not operate in it's typical Nächt Tower mode in 2022, in order to have final sendoffs in the normal drop tower mode.

When it debuted, Mäch Tower featured an onboard audio system which would play music throughout the ride's ascent and a seat vibration effect that would trigger immediately before the drop. A POV featuring the on-ride audio can be found below.

So... Is the OP any sort of authority, or did they just pull that out of thin air?
He may feel he is.
This quite literally sums up 99% of the content of that group. People who think they know everything about the park because they either work there or they visit every other day during the summer. IMO, real insider info is pretty hard to come by. Unless the OP was a ride op at MT AND maintenance specifically told them that this was going on, I would be hard pressed to believe it. Even then, it takes a special person to know who exactly to talk to about things like this to even get the info in the first place. Your regular run-of-the-mill ride op would not know this and be disseminating this info on the basis that Park Ops told them to tell guests that. Ops management tries to keep a pretty tight lip on things like this. The year I was MT lead, it had a lot of downtime in the first few weeks of CT. I only knew it was an issue with the wireless communications between the carrige and the main control system because I specifically asked about it to the maintenance supervisor who was trying to figure everything out. Even then, I wouldn't tell guests that unless they were specifically inquiring about the details of the ride shutdown. I don't even think I told all of my team members what was going on besides its a controls system problem and Busch maintenance doesn't have the parts to fix it when the problems occur. That was satisfactory to 90% of team members and the guests that wanted to know more about what exactly the shutdown was caused by.

He is not and to be clear about his history he was sure Bob's Speakeasy was Santa's new workshop. I wouldn't/can't totally rule out a restraint replacement but I also know of no info supporting that and I don't think it's likely.

If people believe it, then they will also believe that the work happening for DK is to finally build the world's first polercoaster... /S

I saw someone mention that this could mean the demise of Mach Tower. Honestly I wouldn’t be sad to see it go, but if they remove it, the logical thing to do would be to replace it with a newer and more reliable version.

I’m gonna be real if you’re hoping for an Intamin Sky Jump I’d hope that if they get one it doesn’t make the noise Falcons Fury does every cycle. That sound would get Kingsmill all crazy fast.

If they stick with a tower in that spot, I'd like to see them implement that underground concept that went around a while back.

What would go there in its place, even if it was removed? Another flat? I can’t see a real ride without major landscaping
Highly likely just an empty plaza for a while if not permanently. Mach Tower really isn't very well located the park just had to new concrete work and erosion mitigation last year as a result of erosion along the Rhine side if it. I would be very skeptical of anything new going in that location if Mach Tower goes.
