Mäch Tower was a Moser's Rides Gravity Tower located in the Oktoberfest section of Busch Gardens Williamsburg.

Originally planned to debut in the spring alongside Beste Brezeln und Bier and numerous other alterations to the Oktoberfest hamlet, Mäch Tower faced months of delays throughout the first half of 2011. Ultimately, the attraction did not open to the public until August 18th, 2011.

Mach Tower was typically converted into an observation tower named Nächt Tower for the park's annual holiday event, Christmas Town.

On December 16, 2022 it was announced by the park that Mäch Tower would close on January 8th, 2023. The ride did not operate in it's typical Nächt Tower mode in 2022, in order to have final sendoffs in the normal drop tower mode.

When it debuted, Mäch Tower featured an onboard audio system which would play music throughout the ride's ascent and a seat vibration effect that would trigger immediately before the drop. A POV featuring the on-ride audio can be found below.

Crane at mach tower today. I assume light change
NEW FOR 2078: mach tower: Electric Boogaloo

After we received so many complaints about the drop being not being "intense enough" we have removed the gondola and will raise you up 240 feet, were you will get pushed off the tower and bungee jump your way to safety. So hold on to your lederhosen and hope your bungee cord doesn't snap

Fun Fact: I was next to a guy who actually had a lederhosen on. That was a very interesting experience to say the least.

In all seriousness will BGW really turn into Action Park by the year 2078??? We’re the budget cuts that bad?

I mean, there’s already Action Park corporate lineage in Finnegan’s Flyer. Literally.

According to the book, Stan and Gene were good buddies, Gene had one of the first parks to really be interested in S&S attractions because of how unusual they are for the time.

I've been waiting for the day where someone accidentally switches Mach Tower out of observation mode in the middle of the day during Christmas Town.

Is it as simple as a key or switch on the controls panel? That'd be awesome - silent night then... Get this, the rumble seats came back, and whoosh down they go!

so i hate drop towers, but i reluctantly got on mach tower during christmas town because the people i was with wanted to. let me tell you, my anxiety told me (as well as the ride ops.. as a joke) that we would get to the top & they would switch it out of observation mode & we would plummet to the ground.
it doesn't help that i keep up with this forum & know how janky this ride is to begin with lol

Update: I spoke with the VP of operations yesterday and he said the whole top of the tower is gutted. He also said something along the lines of whatever is going on should take a few more weeks, I think he said three. I then proceeded to tell him they should remove the ride and replace it with a Falcon’s Fury because your already working with Intamin and he very very very indirectly agreed.

Hmm. I never ride Mach Tower because... well, it’s not special and there are a lot more fun things to do. However, I do feel like having a tower is an almost “essential” part of a park. After Patheon‘s and the Festhaus Park (?) completion, I hope BGW will invest in a more engaging tower... is Disney-level theming too much to ask?

I tried getting it replaced to the point of emailing someone inside the park. They basically said they aren’t removing it.
