Mäch Tower was a Moser's Rides Gravity Tower located in the Oktoberfest section of Busch Gardens Williamsburg.

Originally planned to debut in the spring alongside Beste Brezeln und Bier and numerous other alterations to the Oktoberfest hamlet, Mäch Tower faced months of delays throughout the first half of 2011. Ultimately, the attraction did not open to the public until August 18th, 2011.

Mach Tower was typically converted into an observation tower named Nächt Tower for the park's annual holiday event, Christmas Town.

On December 16, 2022 it was announced by the park that Mäch Tower would close on January 8th, 2023. The ride did not operate in it's typical Nächt Tower mode in 2022, in order to have final sendoffs in the normal drop tower mode.

When it debuted, Mäch Tower featured an onboard audio system which would play music throughout the ride's ascent and a seat vibration effect that would trigger immediately before the drop. A POV featuring the on-ride audio can be found below.

I was on the first ride after it reopened. Just happened to be in the area when they were doing the final tests with employees. There was a group of mechanics and managers standing at the bottom watching and taking pictures of it operating with their cell phones.

It's such a rare occurrence now that they should have bought a cake and streamers. :p

Edit: Cody just posted this to another thread:

Mach tower is shut down as well

That didn't last long.

How long would it take BGW to tear down the Mock tower anyways during the offseason?

I'm willing to bet they're gonna cut their losses & tear it down before the start of next season.

I can imagine a time where Mach Tower is gone and a new tower that works the majority of the time is built where the swings are now- the swings are back in the spot they used to be, the bridge from Rhinefeld to Oktoberfest is back, and the Catipult is returned to its old home in the Castle O' Sullivan building.

And then I wake up.

I wouldn't mind at all is the removed Mäch Tower. I wonder if any of their older flat rides are still in storage, such as the Traybant, Die, Schwarze Spinne, or the Sea Dragon. Does the park still have any of these rides in storage, or where they sold to other parks/scrapped?

I am not sure but from what I've seen storage wise they just don't have the space to keep those things lying around especially on park property unless they own a warehouse somewhere else in Williamsburg? Most of their storage consists of Christmas Town decor and furnishings, Howl-o-Scream decor and furnishing, and Merchandise.

Just throwing this out there, but Mach Tower was running extremely well today despite every single other major attraction having a major shutdown. When she wants to run, she runs like a dream. Just too bad she's too moody about 90% of the time.

Mach Tower will never run like a dream... not with that shaking/rattle.

I actually heard something strange in the park today, then I looked around and saw Mach Tower working. It feels so weird and sounds so unusual for the thing to actually be working.

I think it will not be taken down anytime soon because of the rumors of the park cutting spending they wouldnt want to pay to put something there, unless they have any old rides like CastleOSullivan said, that would be sweet.

I'm not 100% sure they kept any of those rides. However the park has a habit of keeping some of the most random things in storage, whether they plan on using it later or not. I would love it if they kept at least one though.
