RE: London Rocks! (2014 to Present)

I'm 19 too and I know exactly what the differences between Under Pressure and that song that Vanilla Ice made. It really bothers me that people my age don't know small differences like this. Under Pressure is a song that was written and preformed by both David Bowie and Queen. Ice Ice Baby is a song using the same beat and rapped by Vanilla Ice. Honestly people are going to say that Sweet Home Alabama by Lynard Skynard and All Summer Long by Kid Rock are the same songs.

I have no idea who any of these people are....

Then you are missing out on a lot of good music.  Check out the What Are You Listening To thread.

It's not my kind of music though, I grew up during a different time from y'all. I'm not saying it's bad music, but I think it's not all what it's cracked up to be.

I just find it shocking how many of you are talking with such optimism behind this show. Just because it has British music doesn't make it instantly a good show, there are things such as choreography and production, that they haven't seem to be doing good at lately...

RE: London Rocks! (2014 to Present)

Gotta step in here, Matthew. So far all judgement on this show has been based on what we do know about it (ie, music choices, theme). Whether that stuff is good or bad is subject to debate, although I do not think choreography and production can be judged until we actually see the show.

Well Debbie Downer, you can sit and dwell on how you wish things were or look at the brightside and at least see a little good in how things will be. Bad or Good show, a lot of the music that came out of Britain in the last 40 years is awesome!

Well, you can listen to any song you like by typing "www.youtube.com" into your search bar. I know I wouldn't want my beloved park blowing their whole budget on a bad show (or a good one, for that matter) if nobody cares about what makes it unique.

No, I didn't say that the choreography and production was going to be bad. I said that I wouldn't put so much optimism or faith behind it, just because of the music choice. I wasn't judging anything yet, I was just saying I was shocked at the optimism and faith some of you are putting behind the show.

RE: London Rocks! (2014 to Present)

That's understandable, and a very good point. You can't get after someone for saying the show will be bad, and then turn around and say it will be good. Such hypocrites!

Also, what's wrong with a little optimism?

There's nothing wrong with optimism(even though there's not much to be had for this show, but that's another conversation), the problem is when you try to force it on other people who don't have it, which is what you were doing.

RE: London Rocks! (2014 to Present)

I don't recall ever expressing any optimism about the show. In fact, look back at my posts. I never express any optimism about any show at BGW.

People were talking about music they'd enjoy hearing in a show that we are told will include British rock and roll from the 60s to the present. I merely added a huge category of music that was being overlooked.

To prevent any further confusion, let me clear. I assume all shows at BG will suck, until I see evidence to the contrary.

...this coming from a person who has never *willingly* seen a show at BGW.

I never said any specific names Nic, I just said you guys. I know especially that you wouldn't be the person to have optimism about this show, knowing you. I was talking about a couple of other people..

Not true. As I have said before, I have suffered through shows in both Williamsburg and Tampa. Just never willingly.

I don't mind some of the shows at Sea World.

What does all this have to do with London Rocks!?

Plenty. We're discussing whether or not the show will be good, and where our motifs for that are. We are also talking about show quality, and its importance. How does that not have to do with London Rocks?

I'm open to debate as long as everyone is fair and civil.

RE: London Rocks! (2014 to Present)

I'm gonna translate my post for you so we can start over:

Well Debbie Downer(Slight insult to say: why always be down on everything about the show), you can sit and dwell on how you wish things were or look at the bright-side and at least see a little good in how things will be(The little good AKA optimism I'm talking about is that the music is the bright-side of the show, many here think it's good music). Bad or Good show(No judgement, because I haven't seen the show...it could be good or bad), a lot of the music that came out of Britain in the last 40 years is awesome([OPINION]I think that a lot of British music is really good)
