RE: London Rocks! (2014 to Present)

Hasn't even been running a month and its pockets are being picked. let's just hope that the cast didn't walk off.

RE: London Rocks! (2014 to Present)

We noticed that the number of shows per day is down considerably. About four per day with Saturday & Sunday having five. If the calendar is to be believed, look ahead on it; even the super-busy Indepence Day weekend is limited to five. There was six or eight shows being scheduled on weekends; and it usually seemed in even numbers for the two casts to split.
We also saw a new(?) male lead singer over three different shows this past weekend. He performed with both casts. Interesting...

So I figured out yesterday that, the pass member exclusive pins they had for London Rocks were not the only type of pin they had for this show. Did you know, LR has three variants of pins, yes you heard right a show that drained the budget of the Ent. Department has three types of pins. Can you tell me a ride in the park that has three types of pins? No. But god forbid the park take a small fraction of the money they on LR merchandise and give it to any of the better, more popular shows in the park. Because, if I wanted any type of merchandise for Celtic Fyre, easily the most popular show in the park, even after LR has opened, would I find a single piece of merch for that show? No. Like wtf?

Maybe it's actually not as popular as management was thinking it was going to be?

It's not. No where near. I, of course, can't share actual numbers, but trust me, it's not pretty. Assuming these numbers make their way up to corporate, I don't think we'll see another London Rocks caliber show for a very long time in Williamsburg.

They have had several shows with approximately 300 people. Yes, that is bad. What's worse is that they were using the ticked system in the hopes that it would pressure people into reserving a show, thus creating more attendance per show. The plan failed. If anything, the system along with the seating procedures has hurt the show rather than helping it. When the park has to fulfill a certain quota they will do anything to make the situation look better.

You know costly mistakes like this tend to have blow back. One could hope that this may mark the end of Scott!

Sorry for the double post, but I think I've made sense of seemingly out of place puppet section of LR (this was going to be a video, but real life got in the way).

-The puppets are being controlled by one male and one female, suggesting that these aren't supposed to be children, but the desires of their parents masquerading as their children.  The fact that they aren't actors suggests that these children are real, but the puppets are the thoughts of their parents represented in the puppet form of the kids.

-The songs are “We Will Rock You” which suggest abuse or violence, “Octopuses Garden” which indicates the desire simply get away from reality, and “Come Together” as a desperate plea to difuse the situation.

-We will rock you is the most aggressive song, often cutting off the song of escapism and the song trying to unite the family.  Aggression and unity are fighting for control over the situation when escapism loses control.

-The driving scene ends when the girl who wants to get away from everything screams and are suddenly they are transported from driving in a car to being underwater.

-One of the symptoms of lack of oxygen is hallucination.

-The animals featured are a blue octopus, crocodile, and walrus.  The blue ring octopus has one of the most toxic venoms on earth, to which there is no treatment.  The saltwater crocodile is considered to be some of the most aggressive of the crocodilians.  Both are very deadly animals.

-While the walrus isn't particularly known for being dangerous, it does have some significant British cultural history of being a harbinger of death.  In Lewis Carroll's sequel to Alice in Wonderland, Through the Looking Glass, there is a poem in which a Walrus and Carpenter lure oysters from safety only to be devoured by the two.  Not only is the Walrus featured the most in this segment, but the children flock around him.

-Towards the end of the scene, the unity song does have some more play, hinting at a clear struggle.  However, the final line in this scene is “We Will Rock You”, the aggressive song, and the children are never seen or mentioned again after this point again.

It is my suggestion that not only does the puppet/underwater part of the show makes sense, but the children are killed by being locked in a car which is driven into the ocean and that the main underwater section is a brief hallucination while their brains are slowly dying.

Either that the scene was just a crappy excuse to get something in the show endorsed by the least liked of the Beatles.  The world may never know.
