RE: London Rocks! (2014 to Present)

Seriously, that is very ridiculous. The worst part is, they are probably losing more money spending the time and materials on adding the option than they are actually making money. It only costs $5.

The best thing about this is that we now have all the showtimes for the entire year in advanced.

RE: London Rocks! (2014 to Present)

The site mentions getting up-close reserved seating, meaning if you have a ticket they should have seats reserved in the very front for you.

RE: London Rocks! (2014 to Present)

Here is my guess.

Guests who are from out of town and/or rarely visit the park will see the LR ticket offer on line, when they purchase park tickets. (They pimped LR tickets and the refillable cup to me last night, when I was renewing my Plat Pass.) Anyway, if the guests don't know better, they might think that they should buy the LR tickets just to be sure that they will be able to see the parks New! Innovative! Live! Broadway! production.

As PK said, is it sleazy. They are basically preying on people's fears to get money for a free show.

And as Zach said, forcing those suckers to sit right up front, just adds insult in injury. The reserved Plat seats at SW and BGT are always really well-placed, so really the park MUST know better. If I paid money for a free show, I'd want to be able to pick my seat, not be herded to the neck-strain section

I can sit at a table, where dancers dance inches away from me, if I just ask when coming into the theatre, and it's free.

One thing I forgot to say:

Shouldn’t the park be trying to create repeat customers, as opposed to ruining a guest’s trip, before he even arrives?

I get that they are looking for ways to generate revenue, but I would think that making the park experience so fantastic that people want to return, would be a better approach. Charging people for a free attraction merely creates ill-will and sours people towards Busch Gardens.

I wonder how many people will go directly to Guest Services and complain, when they realize that they were tricked out of ($5.00) x (Number of People in Party)? And how many of those people will get their park entrance fees refunded, as well?

This show.....where to begin....the "QBC" commercials with the Queen, are just...annoying, and unfunny-stereotypes. I can understand the humor they were going for...but, it did not go over well. First and foremost....where is the plot for the story/show? It makes no sense. The show can be saved, if it is re-tooled to simply be a "British Music Revue". While watching the show, I literally panned the surrounding seats to glimpse other patrons and their reactions.....BLAND! is not even a fraction of how I should describe their apparent responses. Everyone looked bored or confused. The "I Am the Walrus" and "We Will Rock You" segments are stupid! With this shows arrival, we know have the huge influx of "hippie/60's/"flower power" decals and signage....I do not care for it people! Bring me back the quaint British hamlet I remember. I am not saying that items related to that era, do not have their place in the area...of course they do..in Union Jacks.

RE: London Rocks! (2014 to Present)

I just wanted to point out that, I just realized that what is so different from selling reserved seats from Quick Queues? Your still paying extra for something that is typically free already the only difference is you get to avoid crowds. That said, I am still extremely upset that they will probably basically give these reserved tickets the worst seats.

Also as a question, many people complained that the story line is very hard to follow or they don't get it and then they go on to suggest that the show just shouldn't have one. Well, if you can't follow it or it isn't there then in your eyes the story line really isn't there anyway. Clearly, the fact you can say the story line is not very good means you've probably been able to tell there was a story and you were able to tell the different parts of it.

Oh and cb0355, It is "Octopuses Garden", "We Will Rock You", and "Come Together". There is only three lines from "I am the Walrus" and that doesn't make up anywhere near half the scene. This has become one of my biggest pet peeves.

In regards to my first two paragraphs of this post, I am just asking two questions:
- Is selling reserved seating different than selling Quick Queues?
- If you can't follow the story, then it's as if the show has no story anyway and you'd prefer it not have a story thus why is a poor story a problem?

RE: London Rocks! (2014 to Present)

I dont know...it is one of those things, that I can somewhat understand the concept they were going for...but, it just misses the mark, does that make sense? The casts for this show are insanely talented! and the song selections are good choices...no argument there. In defense, I guess, of my opinion regarding the story line. It is not to the calibre of ( in my opinion) a fantastic production, like "Celtic Fyre". This show is still fairly new, and will/could/maybe be tweaked over time, and sorry if I came off critical. I just think for the amount of money that was spent, you would expect something extraordinary, and I felt somewhat underwhelmed. Also, I dont know if I am really a fan of the "mod 60's" taking over Banbury..but, that is me...others may love it.

The problem is, is almost everyone knows it's supposed to have a story. They are expecting a story. This isn't Mix/Dig it Up, where there is no real story. Then they go to see the show expecting this story to be whatever their expectations are for the show. And when the show's over they come out disappointed and confused wondering if there was even a story.

That is the problem. If they hadn't put so much marketing on the fact that it's supposed to have a story, I don't think as many people would care. They would still prolly feel confused with everything that's happening. (I mean really the whole kids scene is just full of what.)

It's basically the difference between American Jukebox (Something with no plot line but lots of well known music) and Fiends (A show that has a plot and well known music).

Yes, it is.

The first, and most obvious difference, is with the exception of AC the QQ gives you front of the line access to the seat you want. I bypass the line and head straight for the back row. With LR you are paying for the privilege of being forced to sit in some of the worst seats in the house. As I said before, it wouldn't be quite so bad, if the up-charge ticket simply allowed you pick your own seats, or guaranteed you could sit in the best location.

There are some additional subtleties, however.

As I understand the current ticketing system, as long as you arrive early enough, you can get a ticket for whichever show you want. So, the prepaid ticket is not guaranteeing you a seat, just a seat you don't really want.

Additionally, with the QQ, I buy it because of my knowledge of crowd sizes and probable waiting times. I am an educated consumer, who is paying not to stand in long lines throughout the day. Since no one seems to have any idea how crowded LR will likely be, there is no way to make that kind of judgement call. If it were an older show, I'd imagine people would be able to predict when it might be prudent to pay to ensure a seat. But at this point those data simply do not exist. Furthermore, the people most likely to see the offer -- those buying park admission tickets -- are even less likely to know whether shows are likely to sell out. As I said before, these prepaid tickets are designed to prey on fear.

RE: London Rocks! (2014 to Present)

Are the shows busy, themselves? Or are people just ignoring it in general?

RE: London Rocks! (2014 to Present)

Saw it for the first time today. I enjoyed it for the most part. There were no tickets today. We just walked right in.

I couldn't tell sometimes if the cast was actually playing an instrument or actually singing.

The queen bits just seemed out of place and got in the way of an otherwise enjoyable show.

Puppets were a little weird but I like that they took a chance on something different.

The only thing that I will complain about is the way there were mixing music. I really enjoyed the way they mixed songs like Daddy Kissing Santa Claus/Santa Baby from Deck the Halls or All Through the Night/Tonight Tonight from Night Beats. However, in London Rocks they do a lot of just singing over the music of another song. So many times I just wanted to hear them sing the words that went with the instrumentals. I get what they were going for, but I was not a fan. I'm sorry, "All You Need is Love!" lyrics don't go with every song from the 70s.

Other than my issue with the song mash-ups, I thought it was enjoyable. Strawberries!! I'll be interested to see what version 2 looks like.
