More on the ticketing system . . .

On a day to day basis all showtimes will be given a letter: A, B, C, D, E, F, and so on depending on how many showtimes there are that day.

When a guest goes up to get their ticket, the ticket will not have the showtime listed, but instead will have the letter listed. The letter will be listed on the back of the park map with the corresponding showtime.

For example, showtimes will be listed at the theater doors and letters will be listed on the tickets. The park map will list both the letter and showtime.

The process is extremely overly complex in my opinion and honestly I have no idea why they tried to incorporate letters into the system.

I'm sorry ....But this sounds like a sick and twisted trip to the DMV. (Or an extremely busy visit to the deli)

RE: London Rocks! (2014 to Present)

Pass members are freaking out on the park's Facebook about how they don't feel appreciated because they weren't invited to view the first previews. Also, half of the other comments are about how bad Banbury Cross looks, and how can they call themselves World's Most Beautiful Theme Park if they do things like what they did to Banbury? At this point I'd say all of this is really causing more trouble than it's all worth, and we haven't even gotten to the ticketing system yet....

RE: London Rocks! (2014 to Present)

I'm just... I have no words for this show. Of course these thoughts are based on the recording, rather than seeing it live, so I'll try to keep that in mind.

But wow, where do I begin.

Let's start with what I like. It isn't much, but it's important to start with something positive. The art direction, the animations were rather neat. Very reminiscent of The Yellow Submarine. I do like that fact, no matter how much I can't stand the movie The Yellow Submarine. It's very nicely done from what I can tell.

But that's about where the positives end. Piggybacking off of the art style, let's talk about the Queen.

First and foremost, just because she's not our queen, and just because we're allowed to make fun of our President and Congressmen and women, does not make it alright to make fun of another country's queen. I found it highly disrespectful, and grossly unnecessary.

Moving right along, the story isn't very clear. We're supposed to be following these two people through their life?? Who are these people, and why should I care? That's basic storytelling. I have no idea who these people are, other than they are, what I assume, English kids, who fall in love. Okay that's great, but I have no idea who they are. What do they do, what do they hope to achieve, what is their goal by the end of the story? None of that was explained.

Okay so going with the idea that we're supposed to be following these two kids who fall in love, as they seem to be our main characters. Then why do we switch over to their kids? Which by the way are just... W H Y. Why are we with these kids, who are puppets of all things, and then why do we go under water? What is happening? I don't understand. We were just in a car, with puppet children, now we're underwater with puppet children and a walrus. I really don't understand. And this is about the point where having only seen the video sort of makes my judgement, but I couldn't even understand what they were singing. I'm hoping it's just because it's the audio from a recording of a live thing.

And then we move on from underwater to these grown up versions of the kids??? is that who they are? I don't know, they don't have names, I still don't know anything about these people and why I should care. But, apparently they're having marital problems, and the kids are fighting. And wow a whole three lines from Under Pressure. I really wish this story would tell me what's happening, rather than just singing. Because I seriously don't know what's happening.

And it just gets worse! Why do we go up into space?! What is the point? Is that supposed to be the queen in thigh high heels boots. (I will say she can certainly jump in those heels. I know I'd break an ankle. Great job there.) But, just, what's happening. I don't understand. Where did the couple we were supposed to follow go? Where did those kids go? Why are we in space?

I thought maybe, watching it now while I'm half sleep deprived would at least make the show funny. But there was nothing there. There is no speaking, it's all singing. Nobody says a word. I just, want to know why we're following these people around, and why I should care. I mean Dig It Up doesn't have any speaking what's so ever, but it still makes sense, and it's enjoyable. But this, which they are promoting to the high heavens, doesn't even let me know what's happening. I would like some sort of reason why I should care about these people. I mean, if the point was "All you need is love" then they need to make that exceedingly clear. And it wasn't, outside that they sang a few lines a couple of times. I just can not with this show.

I will go see it in person one day, eventually, just to get the experience of seeing it in person. So my view won't strictly be of the recorded version. But, between what I saw here tonight, and that whole ticket nonsense. (Which by the way, this was N O T H I N G like a concert, so why is a "concert ticket" needed to begin with??) I'm not too sure if I really want to put in the effort to see the show.

Yes, yes, yes.

Several things spring to mind:

Tasteless
Rude
Tacky
International incident

Edit: and we can now stop drawing parallels to the puppets in Iceploration.

London Rocks, where Entwined V1 and Killarney Kommotion combine.

I just can't even begin with, no plot, 3 lines of each song, terrible puppetry, disrespect to one of the most known people on the planet, ruining of a park hamlet for a terrible show, sha'll I go on? I can't believe they ruined a whole park hamlet over this. What is this in the first place? Of course this is the show that gets all the special treatment, like merchandise, and of course it's a train wreck. I mean what the heck? How could they mess up like this? Why is the soul of a hamlet now gone, over a train-wreck?

You once again managed to miserably fail, but you not only managed to fail, but you managed to break peoples hearts by taking away the charm of one of the most beloved and magical park hamlets. If this doesn't get you fired Scott, I honestly don't know what will.

RE: London Rocks! (2014 to Present)

Honestly I didn't mind the mocking of the Queen mainly because it is meant for humor for everyone. Look at Daniel Tosh, Anthony Jeselnik, and the list goes on. There is no topic safe from getting joked about. Why should we limit comedy? It wasn't like they were doing it in an attempt to hurt or insult, which is the purpose for comedy. Just to make light of a laugh about something.

Because it's Busch Gardens. There is an expected level of class associated with the park. This just felt trashy.

Only from certain people. There are many people who expect nothing from the park because they have never been. I'm sorry you and others feel upset over this whole issue. I am honestly see the show as a really good show, it just needs improvement on story and it can be a great show. It is definitely much better than Entwined, and I will definitely be wanting to see the show much more often than I care to admit.

Any sane theme park wants nothing more than for people to leave with an impression of class, charm, and sophistication. If people have an expectation of those things, it means a theme park is doing its job. If BGW is not wanting to build that expectation, that alone should be a massive red flag.

There were only 2 lines from Under Pressure that I caught. And yes, each one cost a small fortune.

I would say there are only 3-4 people complaining about the passholder thing and maybe another 3 or so people complaining about the Banbury Cross retheme. There are also quite a few people who commented that they loved the show/can't wait to see it. And then what is funny is that there are a couple of people hating on the redesign/show and after someone responses, they comment that they haven't even been at Busch in years but miss the old days. They must be forum members. :p

In conclusion, it is probably too early to use social media as an indication. After this weekend, definitely.

Imagine someone from the UK coming to visit BGW, and watching this show. Could you imagine the outrage they would feel, because a beloved leader of their's was made fun of, and insulted in a show. That could just ruin the rest of their day at the park. I've made the decision to Boycott the show, and Banbury Cross. I don't want to but if that's the only thing that will keep my day happy at the park without being extremely saddened and dissapointed, then that's what it will take. The only thing I will do in Banbury from now on until they fix what horrors they did to the show, and hamlet is go in and out of it at the beginning and end of my day. I will spend my time admiring shows with class, and hamlets with charm. I'm not sticking around to watch an idiotic, and insulting show, and to see the spirit further drained from what used to be my favorite hamlet.
