RE: London Rocks! (2014 to Present)

I am curious, I wonder how many adult jokes will be in this thing.

RE: London Rocks! (2014 to Present)

For me personally, I am really interested in the technical appearance of the show. Something that really excites me is that the park is offering a "tour" with the new show. The description of the tour, as the ones in the past has left me disappointed. It advertises a closer look at the show, a meet and greet, and one free picture with the cast. What is disappointing to me is I am not sure if this tour will include what I want exactly. I would love for them to show and tell about the technology within the show as part of this tour. However, I know in tours similar to this in the past, it was just a simile meet and greet and that is about it. Getting to actually go backstage, getting a close look at the lighting, audio, and video production would be amazing.

For the show itself, I am extremely excited more now than ever. I am not sure how this show will turn out, but I get more optimistic every time I think about it. The actual performance done by the performers is what will hopefully make this show a good show. I personally don't care too much about the actual performance. I am not sure about anyone else but I am not a musician or performing arts major. I have no background in singing. I could careless about all that stuff so long as it keeps me entertained, as in the purpose of the show to entertain. What really triggers my interest is the technical aspects behind the show.

While you shouldn't rely on technology alone, it can be an excellent tool to help the show. I am personally interested in the design. This show has taken on a dramatically different design than I am used to seeing. Taking a stage of grey and then using the lighting to paint the stage as the show progresses as well as using the other special effects to create props and scenery as needed.

That is what I am really interested in and I can not wait to see how they pull off a visually appealing show. My only hope is the technology used will be used to it's fullest effect and really compliment the show in whole rather than being under utilized and looking very gimmick-y.

Looking at these videos and seeing the small bits where the stage is lit up is actually very interesting because I am not fully convinced it will look visually well put together; however, those bits are also just that, bits of video that can not truly capture the full look so it gives me some hope as well.

Either way, I am excited and ready.

I would love it if the park would actually let you go backstage. I wonder how much room they have backstage for set pieces. If you look at the Moroccan Palace theater at Busch Gardens Tampa, you'll see that the backstage area is like a puzzle. It is very similar to one of those puzzles with tiles, and one square missing, because they are arranged in chronological order. To be honest, it looks kind of creepy backstage, because the giant elephant costume is hung up high over the treehouse set. Does anybody on here happen to know how much room they have backstage? The good thing about this is that the technology allows you to have much more on the stage with much less space.

I think there may be some patent/trade secret issues with backstage tours this early in the game. Sure it would benefit us, but there is certainly no benefit for them.

I am not quite sure if there are some trade secrets. There is only so much you can use technology in a show with the current technology, unless they built their own equipment, I can't see anything being really secret. Maybe very expensive, but nothing top secret.

Also, keep in mind, Verbolten's show building technically contains "trade secrets" such as the drop; however tours still tok place in the building, you were just not permitted to take pictures.

So if there were any special trade secrets, I am sure if they were interested in making the money, they could just prohibit any type of picture or video recording backstage.

Verbolten's trade secrets are from a manufacturing standpoint. Nothing that you could capture in a photograph anyway. It's secrets would be in the assembly and machining blueprints. I was only speculating secrets with the show. If there is anybody that could find a way backstage of the show, It would be you PR ;)

Attention, just as a reminder to those interested, I did say dress rehearsal previews for the show will take place for the general public on the 16th, and that would be tomorrow. So if anybody happens to be at the park tomorrow, I guess it would be wise to report if they are doing dress rehearsal previews and what the thoughts are of those.

Also, the pass member previews will be sunday.

Looks like certain bloggers have been invited to dress rehearsal previews. And they will have the chance to ask the cast and crew questions.

It is in fact London Rocks! Media Day. More on previews later, maybe. Also get ready for the quickly approaching London Rocks! Snack Shoppe
