RE: London Rocks! (2014 to Present)

the seats are old...some of the seat cushion bases were replaced and all of the bases got paint.. that's it for a "refurb" as PR put it....bird flop will be in place for the pre show...

I am assuming the pre-show will be something done a few minutes before the actual show starts. Just like how the inn keeper at Celtic Fyre has a nice small bit before the show starts. I actually think this show will be quite the spectacle.

Hmm, I'm curious to see how the projection will turn out!  It seems to be like the hot thing right now. I've both seen really good and really tacky projection (esp. when it comes to projection mapping ala the Smiler, blech), so we'll see how it goes.  The 5-second car animation clip was too small to judge from!

I just thought of this but what if they had people projected onto the balconies like it was a real theater. Would really make the atmosphere feel alive.

It completely slips most peoples minds that the entertainment office still has a poster for "This is Oktoberfest!" in the recording room. You can see it in the video.

A lot of emphasis on everybody being from broadway. I am very interested to see how the lighting will be used to bring color to the set.

Its almost comical how much they talk about everyone being from Broadway. Many of the people that they have mentioned so far have worked for the park several times. Just for fun, here's a short list of the creative people behind the show. Chase Brock-choreographer(Spider Man Turn Off the Dark),Sam Buntrock-director(Sunday in the Park with George),Toni-Leslie James-costumes(VCU professor).

Here's my take so far.

Visually and Technically I have hope the show will look good. I just hope the performance part of the portion of the show will be strong enough to hold it's own and not rely on the Technology in the Theatre to give the show a "crutch" to lean on.

Meaning if the performance portion of the show is not the strongest people won't notice due to all the visual distractions and think it's the greatest thing ever. Where in reality it is not.

I truly hope that is not the case and the whole package together is a good solid show.

Time will tell.

Just my thoughts.

I honestly have some hope for this show. It is also very comforting to me that because of the technology being used, if this show has a few flaws, they can make up for that. That could either be in this show, or another show.

RE: London Rocks! (2014 to Present)

The thing that I noticed, is at the end of all these videos they have them say something about how they think it's going to turn out. It's all been things like "this all has turned out to be better than we thought it'd be," or in this video's case he says "...Best theme park show in the world!"

It feels like they're trying to build a false sense of security, after the many doubts people have had. I think people have been worried about this project, because of the things the park has put up in the past, Entwined V1-V3, Wunderbarn, KK. I believe most of us know that most of the recent catastrophes were solely produced by Scott Gasparich. However there is one exception, Entwined.

Entwined came here produced like a Broadway show, with out-of-park producers and directors, the park said it multiple times. Before Entwined debuted, I heard all of the things I've heard in these videos that gave me a false sense of hope that it was going to be a good show. Well I think we all know how that outcome was, no need to explain it.

Then came Entwined V3. Who remembers Scott Gasparich preaching about how the show was brand new and how this year it was taken "so much further." He also said it appeals to a wider audience, in terms that it just appealed to kids in 2012.(If adding sexual innuendo to a kid's show, means appealing to a wider audience then yes, it does now appeal to a adults too) The thing I remember about his speech on that day though, is how he pointed out that Directors and Producers had been brought in from all over the world to produce the show. He listed things like Beauty & The Beast on Broadway, which gave me more hope that maybe they improved the show. That day I was appalled at what I saw on that stage, not only did I see one of the cheesiest and idiotic shows ever, they managed to make the show worse.

The point is, I'm just warning all of you to not judge this show by the way it's being scripted in these videos(yes I can bet you that the ending lines in all of these videos, were told to be said by the Ent. department). I'm not saying the show is going to be bad, either. I just want everyone to judge the show after they've watched it, instead of jumping to conclusions off of what these videos say.

By the way, what the heck are they doing at the beginning of that video? It looks like a zombie apocalypse.
