RE: London Rocks! (2014 to Present)
Just how is that process convenient? There's nothing near the Globe aside from shops so guests would either have to get their passes when they first come in or go out of their way to see the show later on. Both instances requiring a bit of planning and could easily get derailed opposed to "Hey, this starts soon, let's go see that." No matter how you look at it, this process is a major pain to guests.
Also, just why is this being instituted in the first place? Does the park honestly think there are going to be huge crowds that would require something on the level of a Busch Gardens Live concert? This is also normal operating season, the crowds simply aren't big enough during this time to justify a ticketing system, especially at a venue with at least a thousand seats. Let's just say that on a day that's kind of busy, 20,000 guests, it means that roughly 1/20 of the entire park would have to do one specific showing of this in order to be full, which would be unheard of.
If I were to believe the rumors of Scott being petty and since the park seems to be hedging their bets on this show, I'd say the ticket system is there to build up false hype for the show. If the park tells guests that there's risk of the show filling up, then that tells the guests that there's a high demand for the show and it must be good. The park knows that guests have rejected Entwined, so maybe the false hype could convince guests that this is different and better than Entwined.
Regardless of execution and reason, this deal stinks and I doubt it will last long.
