Gasparich specifically said this show "brings Broadway to Busch Gardens." And the park has certainly produced shows in the past that tell a story in 25-30 minutes, like Fiends. Heck, Gloria tells the whole nativity story in 30 minutes. Both follow a simple story (evil doctor bringing a fiend to life; nativity story) and because they're not filled with mish-mushes of aquariums and taxi cab childbirths the story can actually be followed. Believe it or not London Rocks is supposed to tell a story.

I think it's great that you like the show; there are lots of things I like about it. However I don't think this point is valid.

Can we talk about the fact that they're closing this show on August 30th? They'll only have 12 days to take down the London Rocks set, put up whatever set they have for Monster Stomp on Ripper Row, and rehearse. I'm assuming that they're already rehearsing somewhere offsite

August 31st is the last date, They will have the first 11 days of September to switch over. Honestly thats not a concern though. As long as everything is ready to be installed, it should only take a few days to install what needs to go in and remove what needs to leave.

EDIT: Any good performer should be able to perform the same show in any venue of any kind without issue. They have other spaces to rehearse.

True, it is ideal to be able to use the actual stage. They have had times however, where the cast hardly had one rehearsal on the actual stage. Sometimes, it works out fine if the off-site mock-up is accurate enough. PR is technically right, but it would be difficult. I would know. I have done that type of thing several times, but the first performance is usually shaky. The performers need to adapt to their settings to perform well. As for the stage, the fabrication company usually designs sets with mobility in mind. I assume that Oak Island or some company like that will be on site to assist. Does anyone know for sure about that?

So TIO's and LR's last showings are scheduled for the same time. I'm going to TIO's, sorry(not really) LR.

Not sure where to place this, but has anyone noticed how The Globe Theater shows are basically replacing the San Marco Theater shows during HOS and CT? I don't mind it because we get the same amount of shows, but in an indoor venue which is a plus for me. It just seems rather odd though.

This is one of the most ridiculous things I have ever read on this fora.  (let that sink in) I have worked with several traveling companies, and I can promise you, we always run at least one dress prior to first.  If for no other reason, then you have to have time to ring out tech.

Beyond that, any production manager worth his stripes would NEVER do that to an actor.  They HAVE to know the idiosyncrasies of a stage, before they perform on it.

I take it back. I can think of one show off the top of my head where this is not the case.

"Waiting for Gadot" requires no scenery or props other than 2 stools and no lighting beyond general. So it can probably be performed in any Black Box in the world.

Gods how I hate Black Box theater.

I've worked on a handful of shows that could perform in various locations with little or no practice prior. They've all worked out well.

so explain to me how "working a handful of shows" that were probably blocked, staged, and designed to be easily transported translates to "able to perform the same show in any venue of any kind without issue."

further extrapolating a your experience with a handful of presumably traveling shows to technically complex shows designed to be performed in a static location, is a false comparison.

Finally I would ask you to be more specific about your "handful of shows" what was involved? were they amateur or professional?

Unfortunately, we're not getting the same number of CT shows. Sesame Street Christmas is not coming back. My 5 yr old remembers it, and is disappointed it's not coming back, and my 2 yr old would have loved it.

So, being the London Rocks fan I am, I had to get to the park today to get one last show in. I went to the last show today & it was the final show for this particular cast. It was a full house & the audience was cheering pretty loud; they even got a nice standing ovation at the end. During the part where they normally make comments about the audience members, the girl with blonde hair & the cowboy hat said, "Well I'm sure going to miss this place, I'm going back to New York tomorrow." Definitely good way to end the show.

Boo London Rocks haters! BOO

I have to know if it's worth seeing tomorrow, because I need to get a picture of the girl who looks like Nicole, who's on the good cast.

I really don't feel like wasting my time, and having to sit through the bad cast.
