RE: London Rocks! (2014 to Present)

I seem to remember saying that KK would be representing the new style if shows at the park.

While I hate to say that I was right, but...

I hate how they say that you may see it in Vegas, because if that ever went to Vegas, they would burn the hotel (but leaving the casino) to the ground, making sure that the show and any clues to its existence would be destroyed and lost to time!!

RE: London Rocks! (2014 to Present)

I randomly found myself watching my recording of the London Rocks preview and realized something: Though you can tell that there's a complete lack of enthusiasm in the room as it's being presented (and afterward), anyone who didn't get to be there in person couldn't see people's actual reactions. With that in mind, I decided I should better depict the reactions to the London Rocks preview at Pass Member Appreciation Weekend last year. I have done just that.

I'm actually super excited to see what happens with this show! Anyone have any idea as to what it's going to be like?  Along the lines of American Jukebox, or just straight music like Gloria? Either way, I know I'll like it because I absolutely love all of the music that they previewed on PMAD. (I'm a 70's, 80's music fan, even though I was born in the 90's, lol!) :)

There is going to be a few words to describe how messed up this will be. Yellow Submarines, Flowers, Confetti, and most importantly...GLITTER!!!
I see no problem...It's a 60s show, it is what is expected.

^We have to accept the show for what it is.  Yellow Submarines, flowers, confetti...It is going to happen.  If you are doing a show about 60s London, what else would you expect?  I understand you not wanting a 60s show period, but that is irrelevant now.

No, no we don't. Actually, ignoring that fact is just about the most dangerous thing we can do. I wrote a while back that Entwined 2013 was only "ok" because Entwined 2012 existed and cushioned the impact of the following year's monstrosity. Ignoring the blaring thematic issues with London Rocks literally equates to constructing a similar cushion for yourself. If doing so is required for you to have fun at the park and that's what's most important to you, by all means, do so- I'm not criticizing you for it- you simply can't expect everyone to do the same.

RE: London Rocks! (2014 to Present)

What I mean is, there is nothing you can do to stop it now.  That is what I mean by accepting it.  It will happen.

RE: London Rocks! (2014 to Present)

My concern is that it's going to be a gaudy, over priced mess that doesn't fit what I've grown to like about the park, a disaster like Entwined but on a somewhat larger scale since it would be oozing out into the hamlet. To those who care about the that kind of stuff, it's a concern.

I just went back and read this entire thread and I just don't understand, why is 60's show so bad?  Is it theming, is it music, why is it such a problem?  i just don't get it.  Can someone help me understand the logic?

There are three primary groups of people here:

1. The people who wish for a return to Epcot-level thematic consistency and a pure Olde Country theme.

2. The people who are fine with thematic inconsistencies in particular shows and attractions as long as the hamlet themes stay true to their Olde Country roots.

3. The people who don't believe the park or its hamlets have any reason to stick in any set time period (or, sometimes even to their European theme) as long as it's "good" and "fun"- whatever that means.

I'm part of the 1st group. The 2nd group probably has the largest majority here. The 3rd group doesn't have much of a representation. The first and third groups don't understand the thought process of each other and the 2nd group is super enraged at what the park is plotting to do in Banbury. That basically summarizes what you're reading.

Thanks Pretzel for your opinion, and thank you even more for give an actual reason instead of just saying "because it will be glittery".  I can appreciate your concern.  Are you a #1 or a #2?
(All I could think about after writing this sentence was that scene in Austin Powers where they're in the toilet and Austin is screaming "Who does Number 2 work for!" and Tom Arnold in the other stall "You show that turd whose boss")

Zachary(Do you go by Zach or Zachary?), So you think the show doesn't go with the Olde World theme at all so that's why you're not on board with it, correct?

Just curious, what year is the England theme based on?
