I did; it was one of the answers (about being them being added for the anniversary that is). But the whole will the lights be turned on via the petition was not answered other than the body language signaled to me "not in the near future" anyway. Thanks Swiftman.. I thought 20th sounded right.. but I've had a horrible migraine all day... my brain gets a bit fuzzy.

We are all wondering that. They just turned them off one day. Anyone know more?

They turned them off because they wanted complete darkness (fact). It makes the ride more thrilling because you don't know what's going to happen next,then once your out of the tunnel (if you haven't rode the ride yet) your in suspense.

Good guess but no. According to official park representatives, the lights and fog machine were removed after the moist environment caused the system to degrade. After that the park never replaced them. I think that this is something that got postponed and never came back on the table. If it were to be replaced, it would help to make the park's only family coaster better, as well as being cost efficient. The loss of BBW may help with this one.

The Lochness Monster will not be having it's effects reinstated during the 2010 Summer season. An online (or offline) petition will not change that decision. (sorry!)

Not trying for the 2010 season anyway. The objective for the petition is to show the park that people care about this and that it is a cost effective way to improve the park. I mean, we're talking pocket change for an organization like this. I'm not making this petition to be a shove it down your throat thing. More of hey look, here's an Idea from 1000 people, actually its not that bad of an idea.

I have to say spiraling around through the pitch blackness in the cave is the only part of LNM that I don't really enjoy. Some special effects would be awesome I think.
