I have started a petition and will begin market blasting it tomorrow. It is to replace the lights in the LNM's tunnel, more details are on the page, it will only take a few moments and this could be your chance to do something big.
Here's the link:

Now we just need one for the effects and pre-show to go back into DarKastle. [Signing in a few min.]

They took it out!? The bit with the pre-story and the mother talking about how awful her son is and how the son gave big parties but nobody liked him because he always took his clothes off around his fifth stein and sang Freebird in his sexually-ambiguous falsetto? ... Or am I thinking of something else? .... Wait, what are *you* talking about....

The video itself is still there, but the sound was off on Fri. so you couldn't hear anything. They also made it a normal temp., took out the water effect, and they still haven't restored the fire in the fireplace. It makes it where the story doesn't even make since anymore.

Aw, that's terrible. I think I remember some other park doing something like that... taking out the back-story videos before the ride. I want to say it was Poseidon's Fury in Universal (not sure if it's even still there).... I could be wrong though, I can't remember. But that's a real shame. Darkastle is a fascinating ride from the exterior and was absolutely thrilling the first few times (as has been said) but even though it lost its surprises after several visits it still has excellent theming. And part of that theme is the story.

I wonder if they'd ever consider putting a new movie in there. Would that even be feasible or was the ride itself tailor made for the film?

We've been on it about a dozen times this year so far and the intro movie in the beginning has been playing (can't be certain it has every single time, but it's definitely been running). The water spray at the very end is off for sure though. Haven't seen that once.

It may be seasonal. I always cowered behind the seat when that part came on a cold day.

I have Theme Park Insider, Behind the Thrills, and probably Screamscape in on this. I have yet to contact TPR or BGEscape. This is looking good guys. We need you to keep posting things on your Facebook, Twitters, and Myspaces. Once we get the first thousand or two, it should be self sustaining. The more signatures we get, the faster they'll come.
