Back to topic....

Aren't the "stars" on the ground surrounding the Eiffel Tower still there?

^Hmm, I don't recall seeing that... Could you elaborate on that?

Last I checked, all they had were Peanuts characters and projections of them and such, but I could be misunderstanding you.

Well, when I worked there, they used to have "Stars" on the ground, sort of like the Hollywood "Walk of Fame" stars....& they surrounded the outer rim walking area of the Eiffel tower.

I know a lot of the paths around the Eiffel Tower have since been replaced with pavers and, from what I recall from earlier this year, there were no stars to be seen.

The squares where the stars were are still there, the engravings are just gone. I imagine they just replaced them with concrete the same shape instead of just tiling over the spots.

One thing I can think of was up until last season the Blues Clues house was there, just painted green. It was easily accessible, it was right behind a giant wall with Snoopy art on it just to basically hide the building.

The Snoopy's Rocket Express sits there today.

The artwork on the bottom of the crypt.
I think the head that sometimes lights on fire beneath you is in the movie or something like that.
And all of the monkey prints and statues scattered around the ride.

I noticed a remnant left over from the Paramount days in Soak City, at Big Wave Bay (the smaller, older wave pool that Paramount added.) Before the waves begin, the voice of Spongebob Squarepants comes on over the loudspeaker and delivers the Nickelodeon character's signature "I'm ready!" catchphrase to alert the lifeguards.

I'm not sure how this has survived a decade of Cedar Fair ownership, but for nostalgia's sake, I'm glad it has.

Here is a link to Paramount that was seemingly untouched, even up thru Haunt...  Every time I see it, I feel like I'm a teenager back in the Paramount days...a manhole cover left over from Wayne's World from Wayne & Garth's hometown of Aurora, IL.  I'm still floored that this hasn't yet been replaced.  I remember when Wayne's World opened, it had a lot of little details like this...we really thought Paramount was going to make our park into a mini-Universal...which clearly didn't happen.

I love that after Twisted Timbers' plaza was heavily refurbished and repaved, the Aurora, Illinois manhole cover from Wayne's World has survived. While it's more likely a product of not wanting to replace it than a deliberate throwback to the area's former theme, I enjoy that the conscious decision was made to keep this little link to the Paramount days.
