To resurrect the conversation that was had in here a couple months ago…

According to KDFanatics, Let’s Get Wild will NOT be returning to KD this season.

Construction for the new ride has played a role along with the ongoing entertainment budget cuts.

That’s not a surprise considering the placement of the construction fences. There isn’t enough room.

But it’s not like there’s 2 perfectly good venues with seating sitting empty most of the year..,…..

So it’s 100% about budget cuts, not construction IMO

Yeah, because the overt Jungle X theme of Let’s Get Wild would make perfect sense in Old Virginia or Planet Snoopy…
Any show can go in either theater. The cirque show had absolutely nothing to do with Old Virginia as just about every other show in that theater wasn’t about Old Virginia as well.

The point is the park has two perfectly good theaters that they don’t use just to save money at the cost of the guest experience. They have decided they don’t want non-thrill seekers at all. That’s unfortunate because their attendance isn’t going to grow with just the current target market.

The show was very interactive with guests and wouldn’t work as well in a theater setting anyway.

They used to keep show materials in a trailer in Volcano’s plot IIRC, so I’m not surprised at all it won’t be held this year. But that plaza will be used for something in 2025, if not Let’s Get Wild

Yes, it would. It's not like KD is a huge park that requires a mile long walk to get to Old Virginia. I grew up watching all kinds of shows in that theater that didn''t have anything to do with "Old Virginia"

Let's Get Wild anywhere but on the paths of Jungle X wouldn't be Let's Get Wild. Everyone would, rightly, be left scratching their heads. Also, there's a reason we don't have in-theater productions at Kings Dominion anymore. No one went to see them.

I'm of the opinion that, sadly, the show was probably on the chopping block regardless of the construction in Jungle X. Cedar Fair has majorly slowed Entertainment investment, it was a notable financial, staffing, and logistical undertaking for Kings Dominion from the beginning, and it was never an enormous crowd draw. I'm very, very disappointed to see it die, but I'm not surprised.

Nobody came to see Let’s Get Wild either. Maybe 100ish people/ show. It’s was a horrible place to watch a show and a horrible venue for the performers dancing on pavers. It was so bad they had to add water fans to the venue and eliminate earlier shows in the blazing heat. This is what happens when a production is done in an in adequate venue.

Okay, well what do you propose Kings Dominion do then? No one goes to their indoor shows. Sounds like you're not satisfied with path shows. Sounds to me like the obvious, natural outcome is, in fact, cutting Entertainment at Kings Dominion.

Path shows at least reach guests—even if they do just pause for a minute or see it in passing—at least it is reaching the eyes and ears of guests. That's far better than nothing.

I just noticed that Rapterra goes over the place where the Let’s Get Wild’s backstage trailers were. Unless they really want the production crew to take a hike carrying those massive puppets, I don’t see how they’re going to be able to do the show anymore.

I’m very sad about that, personally. Let’s Get Wild was my favorite show I’ve ever seen at Kings Dominion. It even made me feel like it was a show that I would have seen in the good old days of Entertainment at Busch Gardens.
