Nothing good can come from dropping a theme park anywhere near the 95. Why hasn't anyone considered Leesburg or somewhere west on the 66? It's wide open, near DC, and no one gives a (#2) if you build a super Walmart or a roller-coaster park or whatever.

There was also that talk about converting that park up in NY or PA into a Legoland. I can't remember which park it was, but one of the ones that pretty much gets shut down every year for one financial reason or another.

If Rye gets bought up by anybody invested in actually running it that'd be an improvement over its current situation.

Just what we need in the I95 corroridor: more traffic.

This was exactly my thought. I dread getting into Falmouth and onto I-95. No one knows how to merge. Everyone needs 2 more car lengths before they get over. I've never gotten to that intersection and had a smooth entry to I-95. They really need to rethink that area, and NOT just add more lanes in Falmouth which is what they are doing right now. There needs to be a by-pass for that area and soon.

On a side note, I remember when Disney looked at the Haymarket area. EVERYONE was up in arms. They wanted to keep their beautiful countryside. Problem was, the owner wanted to sell it off and develop it. So instead of allowing a cultural theme park (geared towards history of the area) they chose to deny them the right to build there. Now if you ever drive past this site, it's a sea of roof tops. It was either Disney or 10,000 houses. He had the right to develop it and he did. Double edged sword. I for one would have like to have that park there.

I always thought the Disney project was cringe worthy.  I think this is much less so, however they will have to address traffic.

Have you seen what they've done to the area that Disney proposed for the theme park? Now I literally cringe when I drive through there. Crappy overpriced subdivision homes and town homes as far as you can see and a Walmart. Give me a theme park any day over that crap. I would have been 20 minutes from the park had they built it.

Hello. Sorry to bring this thread back from the dead, but there has been some activity in this ring. This showed up in our local newspaper today. Legoland has officially decided to build their third U.S. park in New York, an hour from the Big Apple, instead of Stafford. The possibility of a Legoland ever coming to Stafford is basically none.
