Closed talks continue to go on, however they refuse to go into any detail. :dodgy: They have said that they are making progress and negotiations for if the park is built there. If it were to be made, it would be one of the largest of the legoland parks. Hope they choose stafford!! :D

Any new news? This article was the last I heard, and they said they were going to pitch an incentive package by the end of the year...
What I find rather curious, is that they mention other locations are being considered. Now, the next question is, are those locations still in VA? Or are they looking at other states? I could think of a few other locations in VA that would be a nice fit.

They mention that, but I haven't seen another other locations mentioned publicly. Maybe someone is better at google-fu than me, but I haven't found anything yet.

I know at one time they had considered going in on I-64 near Colonial Downs. We had done some rough planning drawings for the Providence Forge exit area at I-64. Lego eventually pulled out as they didn't see the New Kent area as a big enough draw.

So, another little update that could have a huge effect on LEGOland. So, Stafford Airport is trying to decide what they want next to them. Right now, they are leaning towards a 650 home neighborhood. Sadly, this neighborhood would be right next to LEGOland, so there will probably be sound restrictions like BG. I fear that if this neighborhood is built that it will turn away LEGOland from building in Stafford. That is all for now.

So, as I said a few posts ago, LegoLand (if built) will be near the 650 home neighborhood, but it will also be next to the new George Washington Village neighborhood. Nicole, this one's for you. This George Washington Village will have more than 2500 homes. It will be Stafford, Fredericksburg, and Spotsylvania's largest neighborhood. So, with this neighborhood, there will be even more of a chance for sound restrictions. Great. Other than that, there has been NO NEWS ON THIS! DAG NABBIT NEWSPAPERS!

Not for nothing but didn't we go down this road in the early aughts with dreary... er... disney? Thankfully we dodged the dancing rat bullet then. I must say, while my sister's traffic concerns are valid, I do like the Lego potential....

I'm surprised there aren't more themepark-like happenings in NOVA. Splashdown water park in Manassas doesn't count.

From what i've seen/heard pretty much every major chain (national and global) has looked into VA as a very serious option at some point in time. Various reasons keep things from happening.

I'm sad now.
