While the park is prettier, once all of the leaves and flowers have come in, I have to say that there is some utility to bare branches. They can also create some striking photos, I have noticed.

The water for Le Scoot comes from a deep well behind the exit of Alpengeist, The specs for the depth and volume of water the well produces escapes me, but it is very generous. The well is original to construction of the park and of Le Scoot. So, they designed and built Alpie around it.

Other than that I can't think of any theming the ride has had.

There's some theming near the entrance and in the station, but that's mainly just signs. Perhaps more props?

But anyways, getting the saw in the saw mill actually working would be nice.

Do they still play the bluegrass music in the queue? I seem to recall that they used to play bluegrass type of music in the queue about 15 years ago. Can't remember if they still do.

I heard from an interview the park was considering making the sawmill pitch-black dark and having a light focusing on the saw just like in 1975.

yes

My sister-in-law worked on a water ride in Busch Gardens Tampa with similar boats to Escape From Pompeii. Believe me- with all the stories I've heard about "how boring that job position was" I wouldn't be surprised at anything. Sometimes you can make their day by just waving at them, as long as they aren't displaying any of the bad behaviors listed above.

Personally, I never minded the lack of theming. I will be happy to get some if it adds to the experience. I just love the natural look of the ride. It's so peaceful.

I would really love to know who made the new boats. They look awesome, and I love the fact that they are keeping the original logo. With all of this new work, is there a chance the queue got any modifications? I think it would be awesome if they could update that part. After all, the ride itself was/is already timeless in my opinion.

I've been wondering that myself. They look like the standard mold for the old Arrow Dynamics logs. Does S&S own that now? Or does another company have some of Arrow's assets?

So far as I know S&S took over all of Arrow when it went under. That being said, I would imagine any fab shop with fiber glass capability could make the boats. They are not terribly complex. BGW could have kept it local. But this speculation on my part.
