" It was so dark and spooky"

And a big plus during the summer it was always cool there. It was much better than the same ride outside. I remember being thrown towards the weapons that were placed against the walls in near darkness.

I just had the most amazing experience.

I am at Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk, and they have an indoor Breakdance.  It was dark with dayglow paint and flashing lights.  The movement is fairly similar to a Scrambler.

So, I totally just had a nostalgic, fun ride on the closest thing I may ever find to the Hastings Catapult.

Almost forgot: it was called Wipe Out.

Holy cow! A friend went the other day and sent a video of them at this ride….. what has happened? It sounds horrible and she said that it was very “herky jerky” riding. This old girl may need some TLC.

I mean it is one of the rides that has pretty much been constantly running since reopening in 2020…

I think this ride was already making noises back in the fall of 2019, kind of like the sound of a bike chain needing oil. Rode it again Nov 2021, and definitely agree with cb0355's assessment.

It does have a chain that’s used to rotate the arms and then another to spin the cars. If you look closely at the base of the main 3 arms you can see the gear there being turned by the chain.
