Land of the Dragons (Germany)

Alpenghost swears that there was a dragon with a vacuum mouth that would suck up trash too. Land of the Dragons had a ton of unique touches that are now gone.
The dragon is still there, he just doesn't eat the trash any more

I have a baby brother who is 11 and when I took him through the area this past summer, I gave him trash to stick in the dragon's mouth in order to surprise him and of course it did nothing. So everyone just looked at me like I was a crazy person.

I can confirm that the dragon used to vacuum and the large dragon smoked. There was also a small pond on the other side of the play area next to the large pond that's not there anymore. I know it's a kiddy area, but it's been terribly neglected.
And Riffle Rapids has been filled in. You can still see the watershoot outline that is filled with dirt and plants, if you study some areas. Photo of ride here.
Oh, I totally forgot something about the dragon at the top. There was a control panel inside the top along with a window. So kids would be able to see somebody right be the dragon and would be able to press "roar" or "smoke".
I can confirm the sand and mini excavators, my son would spend hours on those things. I hated the sand, stayed in my shoes all day!
I grew up in that area! I loved the excavators, and I remember when there was much more to do in the treehouse, but, I wouldnt know what you can and cant do anymore, as I havent been up in a while. XD . I remember back when the big slide was in use. Last I remember they boarded it up.
I think he's talking about the big slide that goes down the center of the treehouse. It's boarded up still.
WHAT?! A slide went down the center of the treehouse? I don't even remember that, but that must have been very cool. Seeing as I don't remember this at all, this must have been gone for a while. I presume it started near the top in one of the rooms, and ended in that little "cave" at the bottom? There is a large, red, wooden circle covering something at both of those points. This actually answers a lot of questions about these empty areas.
Like Pretzel said, it's only a kiddie area. But it's very sad to see such a wonderful little area with so many magical details and touches go to waste...

Kiddie areas are where many magical memories are created. The kiddies are the future SUPER FANS of BGW. Let's hope they get some love.
LOTD is in terrible shape now. It's very pitiful to see. It looks so run down. Sadly the best thing they could do now would be replace it.
If this play area had all the cool features that it used to, it could probably be one of the coolest and most creative playground in an amusement park in the world. It is sad to see the park being so lazy and not caring about a part of the park that is usually forgotten. It wouldn't be forgotten if they worked on it!!
