For all of the dragon lovers out there. Imagine if this guy was doing design work at the park! Land of dragons would probably turn into the scariest place in Williamsburg.

Was at LOD today and saw the remains of riffle rapids, I didn't read about it before I went, so I didn't know anything about its background so I was like,"Omg, there this random flume here that just runs through LOD!

This place really brings back memories of playing in LOD when I was little in the mid to late 90's, I remembered the old "Gordon the Dragon" show back in 1997 which I believe there is a video of somewhere.

That’s sad to hear, lots of memories on that ride. I wonder why they removed it?

Bingo. Many times on slower days they would have 2 people running the 4 rides. It never worked well because the eggs took forever to run a ride cycle. Ideally they could get by with 3 and have the bugs and boats share one ride operator and the dragons the other. Now only 2 people can run this area almost all days except summer Saturdays.

From all appearances it looks like they are creating a low sensory area for kids who have Autism or other handicaps. This is in line with that SP did in PA. I think it is a great idea and a wonderful gesture. (if you look at the sign it becomes apparent what the area will be) I suspect there will have to be staff there to monitor things.

Long and short this is unlikely a staff reduction plan. Especially since in the other corner they are building out, is planned to be some kind of stage.

Incidentally I understand that ride was a monster to keep running.

Official statement from BGW regarding Eggery Deggery alongside some new information about Land of the Dragons additions via WYDaily:

Busch Gardens is continually looking for opportunities and always strives to provide new entertainment experiences for our guests. We are replacing the Eggery Deggery ride in Land of the Dragons children’s play area to make way for an all-new interactive, electronic playground game set to open March 29. In addition, we are adding a soft play area in Land of the Dragons to create a toddler-friendly environment.
