Noticed the other day that they took out some of the slides from here. These were the two that were on the rope climb side of the area.

Based on the signs something new is coming soon. I wonder if there was a problem with the slides and they needed to replace them or if they want to get rid of the slides and add in something different.

Oh no! My kids are going to be so sad! :(

Oops- i didn’t see those signs about alcohol. ?

Kinda glad those slides are gone, though, as long as they are replaced with something equivalently thrilling that eliminates all the burninating and static electricity. Highly unenjoyable.

Though I did enjoy the complete lack of upper limits on height. I’ve been THAT 6’-4” guy shamelessly accompanying my little girls down those slides when they were too scared to go on their own — with my mind full of the somewhat gruesome stories illustrating why it’s actually a bad idea to do that.

I wonder if they could have coated them with a Teflon or Griswald’s Non-nutritive cereal varnish to make them more slick. ???

Hopefully a better slide will come. Those really were hard to slide down.

As for the alcohol they have long had signs here, FoF, kids areas at WCUSA and all bridges saying ABC law no alcohol... but they are usually ignored. I don't believe I've ever seen enforcement.

Just saying, from a budget cut viewpoint, having cast members there just for slides might be an easy call to make. That also might be why they replaced a ride with the play thing as well.

Cheaper to abandon in place than to properly disconnect and remove? Is this something obviously visible to the average guest?

Question to @Zachary did you happen to see (during your recent flyover) if any work has started on the area of LotD that was slated for renovations?

I didn't see anything obvious, but I also really wasn't focused on anything other than Pantheon. My guess is that with the top cover in the area it would be very hard to spot much though.

I’ve looked back through all the pictures and sadly, LoD is just too buried under the tree line to really see anything from as high up as we were.

Yeah. I actually looked through @Zachary's photos hoping one had it in frame and found the same.

I posted with the hope that maybe there were some shots that didn't get published or something was seen visually that wasn't able to be photographed. It was worth a shot.

Curious to know their plans for the area.
