As previously discussed in this very thread, Gene Staples is not some sort of guaranteed savior of parks. He’s done a wonderful job with Indiana Beach but Clementon and Niagara have seen little to no improvement.

Lakemont Park needs a LOT of attention to be saved even if it’s purchased.

I really wish Knoebles would be involved in saving rides at Lakemont. Whether that be moving the rides to them or owning and operating a second park that would be awesome because they care to preserve theme park history.

I do think Knoebels is the most likely candidate, though I don’t think it looks good.

As much as I’d rather both be saved, if losing Skyliner means Leap the Dips gets a second lease on life, I do think that tradeoff is worthwhile even as someone who adores PTCs and thinks it’s a tragedy that there are so few left.

See this sets me off as a fan of amusement parks. I get that there are expenses and liabilities, and potentially other more efficient uses for the land (versus rides that sit dark for months on end). HOWEVER, if you don't save these things, they're gone and no one is interested in building this back up for the kids of today and tomorrow.

Not everyone can go to Orlando or has a big park nearby. Closing rides robs kids of experiences, which is something we should all be trying to protect. If Leap the Dips can be saved, or relocated, or given a new life somewhere else - that should be the focus.
