Yes but many times insurance companies have rules that require the park to follow the manufacturers recommendations. Example CF not running trains backwards on Rebel Yell and similar rides after buying the parks from Paramount who did

That's kind of my point - the park and/or their insurer made the decision, the manufacturer was brought in to advise if this was the case here.

There is a lot of people saying that this ride is shut down due to MAJOR structural issues. And if this is true. It’s quite possible Kumba has already given its last rides

Ride has been going strong yearly since 1993...works it harder than most other B&M's, which get seasonal breaks.

I loved it when I went back in 2006...I think a transformation is being examined for sure.

A good sign, or just using a sign they already had in storage?
Same sign as in the picture I took the weekend before Thanksgiving, but there is a major difference. Back before Thanksgiving, they only had a chain hanging across the bridge (visible if you zoom in to the top left of the picture I posted). Now they have the green barricades! That said, maybe they did the barricades due to higher crowds between now and New Years.

Those look like the barriers that the park keeps around for temporary queues and other stuff easy to transport and setup i wouldn't read to much into the decision to add them.

I was on the Rollercoaster insider tour on 12/28 and the tour guide said that Kumba was closed because the forceful nature of the ride was causing the wheels to leave indentation in the running rails which was leading to the steel thinning in certain places. The need to close the ride came from the manufacturer B&M who had been on sight a lot especially with the construction of Phoenix Rising.

Hulk it.

This chain has a love for "XXX - The Revenge" so there ya go. Its an icon that doesn't necessarily need removal, but more along the lines of "enhancement"

Yeah, but there’s almost zero chance they’ll spend the money to do it. and this is coming from a thoosie who thinks the best case scenario would be the park retracking Kumba in addition to getting a new coaster in the back of the park (Giga?)

My hopes of this park getting a Giga by the end of the 2020's wane by the month. They seem to be ok with 200FT or thereabouts.

I think they’ll do it. Just matters when, whether that be 26/27 or 28. I think it’ll still happen. They mentioned it on their social media so they obviously know about the rumors.
