I learned from that article that construction of roller coasters from the most popular manufacturers of the day often became challenging when the last piece of track was lifted into place and ended up misaligned with the first piece by a foot or more. By contrast, Kumba's misalignment had been something like a quarter of an inch. It was nearly perfect.
On a lighter note, this passage reminded me of Twisted Timbers's "Planet Coaster Autocomplete" ending.

It just sucks I never got to plan my Florida trip. Between a job stingy with PTO and a band that is taking off in popularity, my coastering days have been postponed.
