If their 2026 project is a dark ride replacement for Boo Blasters, I'm completely onboard. If they don't have a new dark ride online for next season and this is just a straight closure though, that'd be a disaster in my opinion.

I pray they replace it with another dark ride. Annoyed when parks remove one of their few indoor options.
In one of their recent surveys (same one that had Beast 2.0) they shared a concept for what seemed to be a peanuts reskin of boo blasters. Wouldn’t surprise me if that’s what this ends up being.

The announced that it will "close to make way for future development," which seems to confirm that it will be replaced by a new dark ride, or at least some sort of new attraction.
The last line of their Instagram post, “before its curtain is closed for good”, caught my attention. That specific phrase usually refers to performances like a show, not a ride. Maybe their PR manager just misused the idiom, but it got me thinking: the original dark ride in KI’s Boo Blasters building was Phantom Theater, a beloved dark ride that I’ve seen KI fans begging the park to bring back. Could the “curtain” reference be a hint at something like the return of Phantom Theater?
I hope phantom theater comes back given the curtain reference (maybe with a new entrance so it can officially be part of international street (think of it as a London uk themed theater facade)
I completely agree. Boo blasters has always been a cheap garbage ride. Especially compared to the two high-quality rides that previously occupied that space at Kings Island.
If they don’t replace this immediately with another dark ride, they are just alienating they’re non-thrilled customers further. The lack of attractions for non-thrill riders is a problem across the entire chain that affects attendance negatively.
I also find it rather shortsighted to close this ride before Winterfest as they definitely need indoor attractions at that event because it gets cold in Ohio in December.
I would love to see Phantom theater or come back, but if it anything goes in that space, I think it’s going to be a low quality screen based like Knotts Beary Tales given the direction of this company

For a couple of season the Kings Island theatre ran a very popular musical called Phantom Theater Encore.

I'm going to go out on a hopeful limb and say boo blasters will be replaced with this; a dynamic motion stage ride like the one at Efteling.
The reason I say it is because of the sheet music the security guard picked up in the video. Even though its become a pretty common haunt tune, the ride could be set to that theme music! Just a thought... it could be their new "family thrill attraction".

I remain intrigued that they could be bringing back Phantom Theater. The emphasis on sheet music definitely fits the performance theme. Does anyone know if Phantom Theater used that song in the ride?

I distinctly recall entering the Phantom Theater queue as a child and being intimidated by a mysterious figure on the balcony above us appearing to play that piece on a pipe organ. Like many of my generation by the end of that first ride I had encountered characters and dialogue ("You'll be BAAACK!") that I would love and remember for the rest of my life.

I don't know if this is double posting but I had a idea, what if they make a perfect entrance plaza for phantom theater, making the ride/building 100% be part of international street (wind up Charlie could be moved somewhere else in planet snoopy), maybe themed it to a London themed street (bonus if built a fish & chips shop where wind up Charlie currently sits) with a London themed entrance for phantom theater and put up British themed facades to the exit side of the ride
