Gotta give props to KI/CF for these name changes. At face value, they’re totally superfluous. For the renamed rides, they’ve basically swapped one Peanuts name for another — and on paper, the new names aren’t necessarily any better than the old ones.
But when you read the descriptions and look at the concept art, it’s clear that the names are being changed to fit the lore of the new Camp Snoopy. The new aesthetics and names have been chosen so that names that would have been incongruous with the camp theme, like the Flying Ace, become more fitting. That’s a totally unnecessary and unexpected level of attention to detail that KI certainly didn’t have to do — but the fact that they did, shows that they really care. Even about a kids’ area.
Quick note: I always thought Race for Your Life, Charlie Brown was an insanely clever name because it referenced a super obscure 80s Peanuts special where the characters ride a log down a river, just like the actual ride. It was a perfect fit. I only knew about the episode because I looked it up to understand why the ride was named that. Someone had really done their homework when picking that name, and I think it made for a better name than just the “[Character Name]’s [Noun]” naming convention that most IP-themed kiddie rides at major theme parks employ.
