I actually had the exact opposite experience with Woodstock Express when I went last month. Was completely caught off guard by how smooth it felt compared to the other two Woodstock PTCs.
I havent ridden it in 10+ years. I needa try it again

Why would you write multiple posts with your core argument based on a ride you haven’t experienced in over a decade?
Because if woodstock was such good family coaster and well rounded then why did busch gardens feel the need to still build another family coaster despite invadr existing?

Bottom line is in my opinion they need a long, smoothe, reliable semi thrilling family coaster. All they truly have is backlot. In my eyes

What does Busch's choices have to do with whether or not Woodstock is a good family coaster?
Woodstock is a better kiddie coaster than it is all around family. People with back issues or hip issues ect will not even touch that coaster. It doesn't fill the void of re ridability for everyone and draw that a snoopy railway or ect has or a big bad wolf ect. I think that plays into the BGW argument(atleast in my eyes) Busch did not have that bigger stepping stone family coaster of reridability. Thats why BBW was built and fits fine in their lineup. Darkoaster is indoors and dark and doesn't get you set up for coaster the same was as a outdoor one would. Invadr is janky as shit and can be too intense for little ones in that sense. Verbolten isin't a family coaster.

So I think KD could benefit from a coaster like that way more than another big thrilling coaster this soon after Rapterra.

Invadr 46"
BBWTWR 42"
Woodstock 40"
Reptillian 40"
Apple Zapple 44"

Busch had a massive hole in their lineup for smaller riders that wolf helped to fill
Forgot about taking height requirements in consideration too

I’m not sure if it’s had a retrack recently at all, but it sure feels like it. The last 5-10ish seconds of the ride is still a bit rough, but no rougher than I’d expect from any PTC.

I have the three Woodstock PTCs ranked on top of each other because they’re all virtually the same ride and I didn’t think any of them were OVERLY rough, but it’s KD>KI>Carowinds for me.

The Adult Only pool will be an issue fast. Why because parents dump their kids somewhere in the park unsupervised and parents go to that pool and ignore the world. Plus it kind of negates their own chaperone policy.

The Rapids thing, while cool, may encourage unruly and unsupervised kids from trying to knock each other or other people off their tubes and get caught up in that current that is simulating those rapids, and the fun is ruined for everyone.

I think the Dark Ride is the best bet.

My understanding is that Carowinds had very few issues with there adult only pool.

The Rapid ride appears cery similar to Hubba hubba highway at WCUSA at which I have never really witnessed the issues you are concerned about.

With kalahari set to open in just one year a water park refresh and possible expansion seems highly likely and I don't think either of these two are bad options.

They are building the pool, sorry. They can profit the most from selling extras.

I'd like to see boo blasters get an update before any more coasters. The old section of the water park needs love though. I'm assuming the lazy river concept would eliminate that?

The Adult Pool/Lounge would get the best return right now. Put it north of Racer so it’s near the Soak City entrance. Remove one of the existing flumes on that side for extra room. Doesn’t matter if they take the flumes up against the lake or the ones by Drop Tower, the lounge can work in either space. The flume can be replaced by the mat racer or some other type of slide, but any new flumes/slides/rides should be put on the other side of Racer.

I accept that Soak City is overdue for an expansion and all three water park pitches have a lot of merit. Feels like the adults only area shouldn't be a stand-alone addition though as I don't think anyone would specifically visit for it. Adding it alongside one (or both!) of the other options seems compelling though because, as others have said, it seems like it should be a great money-printing opportunity throughout the summer.

I will reiterate my desire to see no new water park additions north of Racer though. (Very) long-term-planning-wise, I don't think I'm alone in wanting to see the north side of Racer returned to the dry park and the waterpark layout massively improved by consolidating everything to the south side. This isn't an original idea, but super long-term, I think Kings Dominion needs to strive to organize itself in such a way as to allow the waterpark to be separately gated one day with a dedicated parking lot out behind it.

Well, under Cedar Fair, the water park added a new attraction or two and/or enhancements about every 5 years. If SF keeps that schedule, then the odds are better for Soak City to get something in 2026 or 2027.

I am all for KD for trying some sort of dark ride. Even if it is just a gut and overhaul of the Ghost Blasters show building. CF did try different variations of ride systems and themes for darks rides across the park group. In each case, they all had the issue of under delivering in the end.

KD needs to do something with Backlot. It doesn't fit as well as it should, and they could make use of that space and a bit of the lake if they wanted to make it immersive. If they could have an indoor portion like Hagrid's or Verbolten, even better, with a launch out of that indoor portion sweeping the water. Tell me that wouldn't work out well...

No luxe pool addition please, lol.
