What does speculating about this, and even suggesting "transferring meal plan burgers" to a restaurant that actually doesn't exist anymore, accomplish?
The rumors were posted by some employees, but it was only that corporate was looking into the possibility, not that it was definite. Yes that part was pure speculation on my part, but I was just trying to wrap my mind around the benefit for the park should that actually happen.

JBD is successful, in one of the most consistently populous corners of the park (where most other park dead ends/corners can be dead at times). I personally think the food leaves a lot to be desired and could have been next in line for a kitchen and aesthetic upgrade anyway, but not necessarily a full on change. Pre AND post merger they were slowly getting rid of chain restaurants in favor of in-house food options. When I first read the rumors last year I was surprised as it would be an about-face on the current culinary trajectory. When the other burger restaurant in-park (JME) is rarely open, and when it is it doesn’t seem that popular, the only reason I can think of adding Johnny Rockets is that it might support JME’s lack of popularity as well. Especially given its location to KD’s big Jungle X’s investments, I’m sure the park doesn’t want a completely abandoned/empty building right there if they can help it, so I’m sure they are exploring culinary options there that might make it more worthwhile to staff.

Of course Knotts is now replacing their JR with a new Chicken restaurant. Who knows how long ago that plan was in place, or if it’s a result of JR’s financial struggles. It could all be null and void at this point, but it was at least an option that was being considered.

Just want to pointbout that the dinner actually had a major overhaul back in 2021 if I remember the year correctly. last year the park backed off many of the menu upgrades that were made atvthe time going back to basically burgers and chicken. I personally was heartbroken over the loss of the chicken pot pie. Perhaps the reversion to a burger center menu was part of what was leading the rumor mill.

Thanks for the reply.

Was I hallucinating or was Jungle Market Eatery not open at all in 2025, was de-signed, and removed from all park documentation? That restaurant is actually not on the park website anymore, so yeah, its not going to be open or popular.

It was open less than a handful of days last year. When we had the meeting with the park I mentioned that and how it was nice to be able to sit in there with the A/C. Hopefully it will be used this summer

Please tell me you mentioned it has coke freestyle machines to. Locking those away is an injustice.
