I have a dream of Kilimanjaro Chicken Shack being gutted and turned into a reptile house.

One can dream, right?

Our group tried out the new specialty funnel cakes today. We got there right at opening due to time constraints on my part. It took a little while to get the order, as it seemed they didn't really know how to make them. I believe we saw about 5 different people work on the first funnel cake. We ordered both (Caramel Apple and Candy Apple), and everyone in the group liked the caramel apple the most.

I liked having the 2 ice cream spots, but she could have made it into a smiley face or something. The 2 ice cream spots as eyes, whip cream for the smile and the cameral apple to fill the middle.

I like the first one because I can actually see the funnel cake, and it looks organized, the second one, has way too much whip cream and ice cream, and is very unorganized.

Is Nicole the hand model?

I figured the Candy Apple, because of the blue nails, but I thought the caramel apples because of the Fast Lane wrist band.

Honestly neither of these are anything to write home about. The caramel apple funnel cake is good, but there have been toppings available for funnel cakes for some time now. if you were to get a funnel cake topped with powdered sugar, strawberries, and ice cream (which is and always has been available), I think it would be just as good as these.

Also, if you plan on getting the candy apple funnel cake, you should probably bring some mouthwash to get that cough syrup, artificial-tasting, too sweet strawberry flavor out of your mouth.

Still very good & enjoyable, just being honest that I was underwhelmed.

"My Dogsled is a Hybrid" OPI gel polish.  Greeny-bluish.  From the new Nordic collection.  Because I know all y'all care...

Zachary hand-modeled the other funnel cake.

I'd like to mention that this was a #ForScience

I'd also like to thank everyone else who participated:

Finally, just don't get the candy apple.  We have done several taste tests ForScience, and never have the results been this conclusive and overwhelming.  It wasn't even close.

I imagine you guys will try it when I go on Sunday and I'll walk past you again in my BGWfans T-shirt saying "Wow! It's the PFN network Staff! Look at Vanna Whi err Nicole present those Funnel Cakes!" You'll then walk away and I'll be in awe. Sounds good.

I tried the pumpkin spice funnel cake yesterday. I didn't find it hugely impressive (read: not up to the bar set by the Caramel Apple funnel cake from earlier this year), but it was a very good funnel cake nonetheless. I think my primary issue is that there just wasn't enough pumpkin and spice flavor present.

So, we tried the pumpkin spice funnel cake, and I have to agree with Zachary: there wasn't enough topping. The funnel cake, itself, was excellent, but the pumpkin spice drizzle added very little to the flavor.

I think the caramel apple funnel cake was significantly better than either the candied apple or the pumpkin spice, because it used real fruit. The funnel cake needs more than a gooey topping to balance the flavors in the fried dough, I think.
