Don't think we have a broad thread for the steady increase in thoosie-ish long-form media we've been seeing over the last 5 years or so. Figured it would be an interesting topic (assuming I'm not the only person who has been seeking out and watching them all).

Few recent-ish films immediately come to mind like Closed for Storm, Spooktacular!, This Is How We Roll, Class Action Park, etc. Wanted to create this thread to specifically shout out Stolen Kingdom though which is now available for rent via Letterboxd's new rental service.

If you've stayed super up to date on the whole Buzzy/Patrick Spikes story and have a fair amount of awareness regarding urban exploration at Disney World, there likely won't be much new info for you in Stolen Kingdom, but I do think that it's probably the best thoosie-subject-matter doc that I've seen so far. I imagine it's a lot more approachable than something like Closed for Storm or This Is How We Roll, both of which sorta rely on the viewer already caring about the subject matter. Stolen Kingdom feels like it will really appeal to a very wide audience—it's the type of film I'd be happy to put on to watch with total non-thoosie friends and family—I'm confident they'd find it fascinating—very similar to Class Action Park in that way.

Anyway, definitely recommend it. Always nice to be able to financially support more professional media in this space too!

Also very informative, but a lot of info we mostly already know if a part of this forum.

I wonder that one documentary movie that was shown at six flags great America's since removed pictorium counts

I remember hearing about a long-form video about the history and rides of Anton Schwarzkopf being developed; I don't know if it ever came out.

Yep, ACE released it.

I didn't think it was as good as the Arrow one, personally. Felt like they glided over a lot of interesting information without much interest in diving deeper into it. Given the resources, knowledge, contacts, and pull ACE should be able to bring to the table, I thought it could have been better. Both felt a little too surface-level for thoosies and way too unapproachable/in the weeds for normies. Definitely worth watching—it's a long-form thoosie doc you can see for free after all—but not my favorite, personally.

As for Class Action Park....ehhhhhhh. Like most media about Action Park, it is kinda overly sensationalized. The place wasn't that bad.

100% agree. If you look at it as a documentary about the mythologized perception and reputation of a place—like an urban legend doc—I think it's a good time. Definitely not something I'd call particularly journalistic in nature though.
