Journalists can make great park marketing executives. I've met a good handful of examples. That said, she could be the greatest public face of a park ever, but if she's hardly ever at KD, I don't know what that will matter.

Marketing needs eyes and ears on the ground in the park on a day to day basis to be effective communicators for the product. Marketing needs to establish good, working relationships with local media. If marketing were run out of SFNE but there was a marketing rep on the ground at KD to liaison between marketing leadership and KD/local entities, that could probably function well enough—but that is what we had before this latest consolidation. As far as I know, there's no reason to believe that there's currently any marketing representation on the ground at KD at all anymore.

The new KD PR Manager is Sydney Snow based out of SFNE. Once a month she’ll be down to KD.
Maybe I'm missing something? Why not use Ryan Eldredge who is doing Dorney-Great Adventure as a "Mid-Atlantic" region? Or lump Carowinds-SFOG-King's Dominion together?

King's Dominion is ~450 miles from SFNE, these don't even overlap markets at all.

Most likely balancing workloads, vice trying to get perfect geography. Despite it being 450 miles away, you can easily do same day flights between the two locations
 
Somewhat related to KD… I’m hearing unconfirmed reports that Bridgette Bywater has been rehired by Six Flags, but is now at Carowinds.

Her LinkedIn profile does not state anything of the sort, which is why I am saying it’s unconfirmed for now.
